Pros: NoiseGard noise reduction works decently with static "white noise" Cons: The NoiseGard device is large and unwieldy, gets in the way
As a designer, I work in a fairly free-flowing environment and within that often comes a somewhat loud environment. To compensate and keep from getting distracted, I'm a big user of my iPod and iTunes (and various streaming websites). ...

One of the best in its class.

Pros: Good sound, noise cancellation. Light weight and comfortable design. Cons: Bulky external Noisegard unit that requires two batteries.
I really liked that these were more old-school Walkman size headphones than the big bulky over-the-ear cans. The sound is quite good even without the noise cancellation turned on, and very good with it on. My only complaints were that the Noisegard unit was large and external, like others have noted, and that you end up getting stuck with just too much wire. I also wished that these had folded to a smaller size for transportation. Last, I suppose it'd be nice to only have to use one AAA battery instead of two.
Overall however I am quite happy with these. Who knew music could actually sound good on a plane?

average sound but decent noise reduction
by nessjez ,Aug 04 '05
Pros: Good noise reduction, comfortable, good battery life. Cons: Average sound quality.
I've been using these for about 6 months on aircraft now and for a cheap-ish model they're pretty good. The sound quality is surprisingly average - about the same as the standard-issue earbuds that came with my iPod - but the noise reduction is quite effective. They're also pretty comfortable and come with a 6.5 stereo plug and a twin 3.5 for use on aircraft.

Pros: Comfy, sounds Ok Cons: Hiss when noise cancelling enabled.
PXC 150 Headphones
Nice sound, but when you turn on noise cancelling there is a significant 'hiss' this probably isn't noticeable when in a noisy environment, but I was disappointed just the same.
The fit is comfortable and the sound is good.
Also when cancelling is on the audio is amplified a bit, and there seems to be more bass.
