Sennheiser RS 120 Wireless Headphones ~ An Overall Disappointment For Our Needs

by JDinPA, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Jan 04 '09
Pros: Wireless; rechargeable batteries; range up to 330 feet; quick set up
Cons: Did not meet our expectations; low volume
I was really excited to find these seemingly higher quality wireless headphones and thought they would provide just what we were looking for.  These were a gift for my husband who would like to enjoy the bedroom TV or radio longer into the evening ...

All Hail Cordless Freedom

by vemartin Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 50, Jan 08 '08
Pros: Light weight; great aural frequency response; quality sound reproduction; easy set-up.
Cons: Some RF interference from other accessories on my desktop.
As I stated in my Logitech MX3200 Cordless Desktop review, I dislike clutter. And my desk at work is configured such that the keyboard, mouse and headphone cords run across the desktop and not only create an eyesore, but also get in the way of ...

Not bad, but wait for better...

by mose55555 , Dec 15 '05
Pros: Clear sound at moderate volume levels. Wireless Range.
Cons: Large, and unattractive design. Can only be used where the wireless base is plugged in.
I have owned this set of headphones for about 6 months now, and as far as getting the job done, they do well. The range on these headphones is amazing (About 100 ft), but as you get further and further away from the base, sound quality flickers in and ...

not for discriminating people
by artapo ,Jan 17 '08
Pros: works
Cons: works lousy
The headsets worked great -- when I turned my head to 13 degrees north-east I was able to listen in on my neighbor's phone conversations. I didn't know he dealt drugs! Now I have a new source! If you avoid moving too much then you mostly get the audio signal that you intended, except for the additional blasts of periodic beeps and pops. They even work without an audio signal -- turn the input signal off, sit back, and enjoy the constant hiss emanating from them. Of course all this does not matter if you look down at your feet -- the headset is so heavy they won't be on your ears any longer.

Stay seated
by foxglove3103 ,Dec 03 '05
Pros: Price
Cons: Fall off if bending over
My hearing is failing so I really can't offer any accurate frequency info about these headphones ... they do work as advertised and the reception is better than expected.
The fit isn't the greatest ... very limited adjustment.
AND do not stand up and bend over ... they WILL fall off!
I must say they are sturdy ... have fallen off at least 2 dozen times and still work dandy.
The battery life has been adequate ... although, i only use them a couple of hours at a sitting, max.
Good entry level wireless headphones.

Great headphones, with two flaws
by vtwakeboarder ,Jul 29 '05
Pros: comfort
sound quality
charger base
range
three channels
Cons: will slide off if you look straight down
static after 3 minutes of silence
These headphones are so comfortable that you won't ever want to take them off, and with the good sound quality at 50 feet, you don't have to. Unfortunately, they aren't well secured (trade-off to ensure comfort), so they will slide off if you look straight down. The other annoyance is that the transmitter stops transmitting after three minutes of silence (to save power and transmitter life), resulting in static. I would have designed the radio to stop transmitting only when the headphones are on the charger base.

Unacceptable
by cleanbiker ,Jun 24 '06
Pros: none
Cons: continuous background noise, and signal loss when moving around, even close to base.
Constant background hiss, even if the volume of the
input is cranked as high as you can get it without
distortion (i.e. at what should be the best signal-to-noise ratio). Even standing 3 feet away from the base, turning my head back and forth slightly loses the signal at several points when the radio signal is at a null--- I'd rather pay twice as much to get something that WORKS PROPERLY. I have a wireless system that lets me plug my electric guitar into my mixing board, and it is rock-solid quiet at any angle of
turning back and forth, at 100 feet. I guess I'll have to find out if there are any diversity-style wireless headphones available.... I suspect that there are-->at more than twice the price! (which I would gladly pay to have a product that's ACCEPTABLE).

Just what I wanted!
by autuck ,Apr 06 '08
Pros: Connects to TV, stereo or computer easily! Sounds very good! Low price.
Cons: Must charge 24 hours before using the first time!
I wanted a wireless headphone that easily worked with TV, stereo or computer. Easy to connect to any of these devices! I've had very little trouble with static interference. I can practice my golf swing in the back yard or check the mail out front and listen to radio, tv, cd's...whatever! I really did not expect them to sound as well as they do and I never thought anything could be this easy to connect to all my devices! If there is a device that works and sounds better than these for the price I'd sure like to buy stock in the company.

Good wireless headphones
by mcke0211 ,Mar 31 '06
Pros: Reception, overall design, battery life, volume.
Cons: Bass frequencies ok, manual tuner.
These are my first wireless headphones, so I may be spoiled with the quality sound on wired headphones.

I do like the basestation design, and how it interfaces with the headphones, the antenna acts as a cradle and is magnetic so the headphones link up and charge easily. The battery placement on the headphones is slick, and it offers really persistent reception for good distances.

I am not fond of how the phones fit onto the ear. But this is a personal preference.

The sound quality isn't bad, but the bass sounds a little muffled. This isn't a big deal as long as you are tuned in correctly.

Locking onto the frequency isn't too hard, but an automatic tuner would be really handy. Especially when trying to fine-tune it.

There is plenty of volume too, if you want you could damage your ear drums all you want. These aren't wussy headphones.

Lots of static, screeching, and popping sounds!!!
by berto007 ,Mar 07 '09
Pros: If you tune them and don't move, then they may be acceptable.
Cons: As you move around you will hit antinodal points and then buzz, squeal,  buzz, pop...
It is unbearable! The background noise makes using these headphones annoying. If you sit in a single spot and don't move your head then they may not be bad. I plugged them into my laptop and am listening to music but the distortion, the screeching fuzzy sounds, the pulsating! static noise is just ridiculous. How can you listen to music with these??? May work if you are listeing to acid house :-) Argghh.... they are painful! Just awful. Maybe they work with a stereo, but definitely NOT with a laptop. Impossible to fine tune!

By the way I have model HDR126.

Cons: Lot of background noise !
Background noise, FM parasites when moving around the room, not loud enough... well, I sold them 2 week after I bought them.
Avoid this product.
