Pros: no corn, wheat, soy, by-products, great on sensitive tummies Cons: It does contain brewers rice.
I recently switched from a different premium brand of dog food to Sensible Choice Chicken and Rice Adult because one of my dogs was vomiting several times a week. Since the switch to Sensible Choice, about two weeks ago, he has not vomited at all! ...
Pros: Sensibly priced, quality ingredients, and the taste dogs dig. Cons: A little too rich for some of the smaller breeds, I've heard.
My shar-pei mutt, Seamus, has the skin allergies from Hades. He gets bit by a flea? Bam. No hair on his butt. He eats something with wheat? Bam. Hairless heinie. Beef? Bald buttocks. Third Wednesday of any month with an "r" in it? Time for the...
Pros: Good tasting, non-corn based food Cons: A little expensive if you have 2 big dogs
My 12-year old Springer Spaniel, Amos Moses, has had one allergy after another his entire life. His liver and white coat always seems to be spotted with bare areas where he has had a reaction to one thing or another and has scratched himself raw. When he...

Pros: Good price Cons: Stinky poops, dull coat
When I first bought this, I thought it was a premium brand and that my dog, Jake (Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix) would do great on this. He was previously on Natural Balance, and that made his coat dull. Well, he DID do great at first: poops were small and firm (and not smelly), his coat was so shiny, he had increased energy, etc. And then, like from out of nowhere, his appearance took a major drop. Suddenly his poops were large and stinky, the shine in his coat has diminished, and his energy has dropped (though not by much, luckily). I'm thinking that the reason he did so great at first was the combination of ingredients from Natural Balance and Sensible Choice, that the combination of those two foods gave Jake all the nutrients he needed. Then when the nutrients from Natural Balance left his system, he was left with Sensible Choice's nutrients, which weren't being absorbed very well.
I'm waiting for his current bag of food to end, so that I can go out and get a better food (California Natural), and hopefully his poops will smell better and his coat will go back to being blindingly shiny.
Sensible Choice Chicken Meal & Rice Formula is ideal for any adult dog, giving them a highly-nutritious meal with a taste and texture they will love. ...More at Simply Dog Food
