Pros: Fast-paced, easy to learn, fun, some strategy needed, quality components. Cons: The first round goes so fast that you wonder what the point is.
The Game: This game is a combination of gin rummy and a famous word-tile game (name of trademarked game omitted). Quiddler has cards with letters or common letter combinations. There are eight rounds, with the first round having each ...
Pros: Fast moving, easy and promotes conversation Cons: too many players would make it move slowly
I enjoy a good game of scrabble once in a while, but as a game lover, word related or even card related games aren't my favorite. I can make an exception with Quiddler because it kept us talking, discussing and laughing. Quiddler is a fast-moving ...
Pros: Great fun, easy to play, encourages learning and expands vocabulary Cons: None come to mind
My family has had this game for a couple of years now and we just love it! We originally found it at a thrift store. We had never heard of it before and it looked interesting so we decided to pick it up and give it a try. We were of course very happy ...
Quiddler was originally purchased as a teaching tool/encouragement for a so-so speller. It has since turned into a family favorite.
Our so-so speller loves it and has become more confident in his spelling abilities (as well as sent into fits of giggles over his made up words).
Each card has either 1 or 2 letters on it (the cards with 2 letters are common combinations such as "qu," "in," "cl"). Each letter (or letter combination) has a point value (for example "c" is worth 8 points, "e" is worth 2 points).
The point of the game is to get the highest score after 8 rounds.
Quiddler is easy to learn, fun to play, and great for the dictionary buff and the novice speller alike.
It is a wonderful addition to a well-rounded game collection!
Pros: Adults and children can play together - easy to learn Cons: Can move slowly if you don't set time limits
I'm always looking for games that are different, fun, and educational. Quiddler meets all 3.
My girl friend introduced me and my daughter (age 10) to the game. My daughter loved it so much, she just had to have it.
Basic instructions: On each card is a letter or two letter combination with points. There are 8 rounds. The first round your delt 3 cards and you have to make one or more words. If you don't use all your cards you loose points. You can get bonus points for longest word or most words. The next round you get 4 cards, after that 5, etc.
You need to use strategy to win, so adults and children are on similar levels. You don't need a large vocabulary to play, but a dictionary is very helpful.
Pros: Fast paced, entertaining, fun and a great challenge for all ages. Cons: Sorry could not find one.
My family and I love this game, especially when we organize game evenings - EVERYBODY loves QUIDDLER and asks for it to play. One can make short words and still win. It is very entertaining and educates at the same time. We never travel without Quiddler and it does not take long to play a round. It is the ideal gift for friends and family
