Pros: No blowouts ever. No more clothing changes from leaking. Cons: Difficult sizing, not widely available.
At some point in my pregnancy, I seriously considered utilizing a cloth diapering service. There is an excellent local service here called Tiny Tots and another mom I knew had a good experience with them. However, by the time I got home with a ...
Pros: Chlorine free, natural, all that good stuff Cons: Fit problems, no actual 'newborn' size, some leaking, really really thick
We really, really liked the idea of these diapers and ordered some when they went on sale at amazon. We got several packs of the "N" newborn size and a pack of the "S" small size (=size 1/2 of other brands). Our baby was about 7lbs when we brought him ...
Pros: Effective. Somewhat crunchy. Cons: Only somewhat environmentally friendly.
Although our little girl recently put diapers behind her forever (it only felt like they'd be on her behind forever), this brand was our disposable brand of choice. We used cloth at home, disposables while "away," and at night, and we ...
Pros: Great for your child and the environment Cons: A little more expensive than other brands
We've used these diapers for both of our boys over the past foru years and are very impressed with the quality and comfort. They have a comfy, stretchy waistband and elastic around the legs. The stretchy waist ban makes a very comfortable fit ...
Pros: better for the environment than standard diapers, keeps baby just as dry, cheaper than pampers Cons: none in my book
Our son is 16 months old and we had been using Pampers Cruisers. My wife and are are both very conscious of our impact on our environment and the impact that our actions will have on our son's life. We never felt good about our traditional diapers but ...
My son used to get diaper rashes all the time with pampers we started using these and he doesn't get diaper rashes as frequently and he seems to move around more comfortably.
I have tried Pampers, Huggies, Target brand, CVS brand- and nothing compares to Seventh Generation. I am a fan of Seventh Generation dish soaps, so I thought I would try their diapers since I was having such a bad time with the other brands. They hold more and leak less. My daughter will still occasionally leak during a blow-out, but nothing compared to when I have her in other brands. I put her in a fresh diaper at bedtime and don't change her until she wakes up the next morning. She has never leaked in these diapers when wearing them overnight. The diaper is very absorbent and keeps moisture away from baby's tush. I bought these because they are chlorine-free. The effects of Dioxin on our environment and on our babies is unknown- and I don't want to take any risks. I wish we used cloth diapers, but my husband won't commit. These are the next best thing to cloth. I love them because they fit better and leak less.
Kind to the environment, your baby, your wallet by soxfanctl ,Apr 12 '06
Pros: Low amount of chemicals, chlorine free, still relatively cheap Cons: None
If you're like my wife and I, you knew these were the diapers you'd get once you knew about them. With all of the unknown (and known) chemicals being injected into all sorts of products these days, we knew we could trust Seventh Generation to make a responsible and safe diaper.
Even better, we figured out that it hardly costs more than the traditional brand name diapers if we ordered through www.1800diapers.com. The per diaper costs rival all of the other brands, and this is the cheapest place we found by far. No tax and free shipping makes it a better deal. Use referral code CRLE1437 if you sign up for an account there and you'll get $2 off your first order. Accepts manufacturers coupons too.
We use cloth diapers at home and disposables on the road. Seventh Generation diapers are absolutely the best disposables we've tried. They don't leak! I've tried most of the major brands and cheap store brands. Some of the cheap ones gave my son a rash, and the Pampers and Huggies leak. It's clear when you take off a wet diaper that the Seventh Generation one is holding a lot more liquid than those Pampers could - it's much heavier! They even work overnight. Of course, the environmental factor is wonderful and is the reason I bought these diapers in the first place. But I keep buying them because they work!
Pros: No blowouts on breastfed baby. Cons: Size 1 leaves marks on her legs.
My 5 week old breastfed daughter has been wearing size 1 Seventh Generation diapers. So far, no problems with blowouts. Her legs are thin, but the bindings on the diapers leave marks on her legs. She weighed 8lbs at birth and weighs under 10 pounds. So far, so good. Will update after Size 2.
Pros: Chemical free, great fit, made in U.S. Cons: Runs small
If you'll notice the older reviews are mixed and the newer reviews are much better, it's because Seventh Generation revamped their diapers. They are much better now. I like Seventh Generation diapers a lot. They are all we use on our daughter. The only time they leak or blow out, for that matter, is if they are incredibly full and then that would happen with any diaper. I love that they are chemical free and now made in the U.S. In fact the only thing I don't really like about this diaper is that it runs a little bit smaller now that it has been revamped. Otherwise I think it's an exceptional product. If you decide to purchase them make sure you get the sizes with numbers (size 1 - size 6), not the sizes with letters (size N - size L). The latter are the older diapers that were rated poorly. As another reviewer stated, buy from 1800diapers.com.
Great Diapers. I would not use anything else. by dceaton ,Mar 29 '07
Pros: Easy to use. No leaks. Absorbent. Cons: None
We love these diapers. We've tried other diapers but these are the best. They are very absorbent and easy to use. I'd recommend getting the Seventh Generation product line at excellent prices and with free shipping over $50 at 1800diapers.com. Use coupon code DESM2303 to get $2.00 off your first order with 1800diapers.com. I've never had any problems with the diapers and accessory products ordered there. We are completely satisfied!
Pros: More environmentally friendly, not as many harsh chemicals for our babies "bum". Great fit! Cons: None
These diapers fit our son better than huggies or pampers. We found that pampers leaked the least of any diaper till we tried these. These worked great for us. We bought them when our son needed size 1. I love how stretchy the tape is, because it makes the fit of the diaper more personal. We have only had one leak from these and it was because he didn't get changed and already had a full, wet diaper when he messed himself.
These are great - super absorbent and soft - and chlorine free. The cheapest place I found to order them is www.1800diapers.com. Enter coupon promotion code JENI2774 to get $5.00 off your first order and free shipping on orders over $50.00.
Seventh Generation Diapers are the best! by kenayi ,Jan 07 '07
Pros: Fit great, good for baby, good for environment. Cons: Can be difficult to find.
These diapers have it all, in my opinion. One, they're so much better for the environment than the "regular" brands (Pampers, Huggies, etc) and they're better for you baby as well. With no chlorine and bleach in them, diaper rash is almost non-existent, especially when you also use the chlorine free wipes also available from Seventh Generation.
Since they can sometimes be pricey and hard to find, I recommend 1800diapers.com. They offer the absolute cheapest prices around. Enter promotional code NABI5204 for a discount.
I use them when I'm on the road with my boy, and at home I use cloth diapers. I feel so much more comfortable knowing I'm doing the best I can for the health of my baby, and for the environment. Leaks are pretty much non-existent and they fit perfectly. I highly recommend!
