Pros: Easy for baby to carry or roll
Cons: Small hole on top
My son received the Shape Sorter Ball when he was about six months old. At the time he was still too young to know what he was doing, but he had a lot of fun trying to put the blocks into the holes! When he got frustrated, he would discover the...

Have ball.....Will travel!

by tiffer0220 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Apr 13 '00
Pros: Handle for easy carrying, lightweight to carry, 6 different shapes.
Cons: Hole up top of ball is not that big for an adult's hands to fit into.
My little guy (2 years old on Saturday) had received this when he was about 8 months old. At first he just liked to play with the shapes and try to eat them. Need not worry, the shapes are big enough and do not pose a threat.

This shape...

Pros: Colorful, Durable, Low Maintenance
Cons: Children Found It Entertaining For Only A Brief Time
The Shape Sorter Ball is merely one of the many shape sorting toys my children have collected in their lifetimes. This particular toy is relatively inexpensive, educational, and durable; three things a parent of young children generally values in...

by ceylona , Jun 24 '00
Pros: developmentally helpful, better than the competition
Cons: um...none, unless you ARE the competition!
At 9 months of age, our son was ready for some developmental toys that encouraged his improving dexterity and thought processes. The Fisher Price Shape Sorter Ball was great for this, and better than the competition for a great many reasons.

where oh where does this little shape go?

by kymmielynn , Jan 18 '00
Pros: lightweight, colorful and educational
Cons: lots of pieces
My son received this toy as a gift. At 15 months he doesn't get the concept that he is supposed to put the shapes in a certain hole. He likes to dump them all out and put them in the big hole up top to put them all away and do it all over again.

I am a preschool teacher and this toy is in my room! Even though it is recommended for much younger children, it works very well with older children as well. I bought this because I have one child who is developmentally delayed. While he would work...

Pros: durable-educational teaches shapes

by Shellene , Feb 09 '00
Pros: teaches shapes & colors, enhances motor skills
Cons: needs the addition of a lid for the top
When I started thinking about what toys would be educational and fun for my little boy, I thought back to what I enjoyed as a kid. One of my favorites was the shape-o ball, I think ours was from Tupperware. I found one from Fisher Price and was ecstatic!...

Pros: Educational
Cons: Not easy to get shapes out of
My daughter received this toy when she was an infant (6 months or so). She played with it very little even as she was older. I liked the idea of this teaching her shapes & sorting. This toy was a little more difficult than I bargained for.

I bought this toy for my 7 mo old daughter for x-mas this year. So far, she doesn't quite get the idea, but I think she will grow into it. The box said is was for 6 mo +, but I think 8 mo will be more appropriate.
The ball is a good size and...
