Burnt spot on TV screen

Pros: picture WAS nice Cons: TV did not last
I purchased our TV in august of 2006. A few months ago we noticed a burnt spot in the upper right hand corner. We did buy an extended warranty that is good until august of 2009. The repair service just informed me that it needs a new LCD panel that is no longer available. Now they are waiting to hear from G.E. to see how they are going to handle this. I will not buy another Sharp TV. Too much money was paid for a TV that less than 2 years later cannot be repaired.

Buy ANY TV besides a Sharp!!

Pros: Aesthetically pleasing, Clear crisp picture when it works. Cons: Manufacturing issues, poor customer service, Slow to change channels.
I originally purchased a LC-32D40U 32" TV in Dec of 06. The TV arrived damaged (the greed LCD driver failed over approximately 25% of the screed.) and Sharp replaced my unit with a new LC-32D42 in Mid Jan of 07. Inputs 1-6 failed within 3 weeks and the TV was in the shop Feb 15, 2007. Parts were scheduled to arrive March 02, 2007 but did not arrive. At this point I had argued enough with Sharp about the late arrival of the replacement parts they decided to send me another new TV. They ensured me that because I had purchased a TV in Dec. and had yet to get a working unit I would receive a replacement via 2 day shipping (March 7, 2007). As of March 15 that TV has yet to arrive. Sharp refuses to refund my money, and it has taken 4 days to talk to a manager. I would not use a Sharp product again even if someone gave me one.
