A Neat player/recorder

Pros: Small size, MDLP4, nice graphics, large LCD display, long playtime.
Cons: buttons on the remote are oddly placed.
I got mine straight from Japan a few months before the US release. The US version is EXACTLY the same as the japanese version except that the US version does not have the ability to enter japanese text, and the voltage adapter is made for US 120...
