Sheraton World

Pros: Nice landscaping, clean
Cons: No full service spa, pool too cold, Small room, Expensive

This is my very first hotel review as I don't do much traveling. When I do it's usually within the state and I am very picky about my hotel accommodations. I have no problem paying top dollar as long as I feel like I'm getting my money's worth.

Pros: Really nice treadmills. Landscaping.
Cons: No longer affiliated with a major hotel chain. It's a trumped up road-side motel.

Update 2 - 28 September, 2006 as of midnight tonight, the Sheraton World is loosing its status as a Sheraton. Although confirmation can not be provided as to why the hotel is no longer affiliated with the Starwood brand, one can only surmise ...

Pros: Makes you really appreciate the quality of your average Days Inn. Refrigerator in room.
Cons: The place is a total dump; the people working there are largely useless.

We just returned from Orlando, and spent 7 nights at Sheraton World resort. Overall the facility is very nice, very well landscaped and kept, the pools clean and at a comfortable temperature. It is in a central location, very close to all the parks, International Drives eatery's, the Convention Centre, and airport. I would however recommend only the tower section as it is quite new, and offers you a traditional hotel room (without balcony), sprinklered fire protection, and central air-conditioning vs an in-wall unit that can be very noisy. The balance of the rooms are equivalent to a walk up apartment block, and although I did not go into the rooms, the common areas smelled heavily of mildew. The staff were very nice, and housekeeping was excellent. The hotel is not a full service resort, as some of the other reviews will attest, but it is worth staying at (in the tower section) in my opinion.
