Pros: Clean comfortable rooms, great location Cons: A little confusing getting around from one building to the next
It's a strange experience when you take a little vacation practically in your own backyard..That is what my husband and I did this past week..Granted it was a very mini vacation of only 3 days and a business oriented one at that, but it didn't take me lon ...
Pros: Random good rates, good location, uber-friendly staff Cons: Outdated motifs, kind of like a run down cruise ship
Visiting Fort Lauderdale quite often for work, I had seen the Sheraton Yankee Clipper many times, but never stayed there. With one half of the hotel appearing to be a large ship, I wasn’t sure if this would be a hotel of interest to me. The ...
Pros: Excellent location on Harbor Beach, recently renovated rooms Cons: Lobby and public areas need attention, very unattractive bar, ordinary pools
I went down to Fort Lauderdale on a whim last June. I had been there before, but the Lago Mar was booked, and my Starwood Guest Rewards account was malnourished....I picked up the phone and got a great deal--only $79.00 for a room with an...
Pros: Location; beach front property, near water taxi and public transportation. Cons: Motel like amenities for hotel price; hard beds, flat pillows, rough small towels.
I stayed here for three nights while in Fort Lauderdale on business. And while this hotel is in dire need of refurbishment, it's location makes up for some of its short comings.
I checked into the Sheraton Yankee Clipper Hotel in early...
Pros: Nice beach and cabana bar. Good service and clean rooms. Close to airport and port. Cons: Boring exterior. Dark, interior public rooms. Expensive drinks on the beach.

Ever stay at a place where it just seemed like everything was just plain bad? We had that experience at the Yankee Clipper. We reserved two rooms for two nights starting on Thanksgiving. We flew all day from the west coast and arrived at the Clipper just ...
Great pre-cruise hotel! by onlinemommy ,Apr 06 '06
Pros: Location, price, convenience to port, beach Cons: Age of hotel
We stayed at this hotel in March, 2006 for one night before boarding a cruise-ship in Port Everglades. I was not expecting much after reading some of the reviews on other travel websites but ended up being pleasantly surprised. The hotel IS old - there's no denying that. It wasn't like the hotels and resorts we are accustomed to staying at - but it was clean and the employees were all extremely pleasant. Check-in was smooth and, when we were given a room with one bed (for the four of us) in error, a switch to an equally nice room with 2 beds was handled swiftly and easily. The location is great - the beach is wonderful and the walk to the Oasis Cafe (which we love) was a short one. We enjoyed a nice breakfast buffet at the hotel and visited the small gift shop on-site. I probably wouldn't want to spend a week vacationing at this hotel (just personal preference - we like newer resort-type properties) but I would not hesitate to stay here again for a night or so before or after a cruise.
