Pros: Easy to use, OK picture quality, OK software. Cons: Goes through a lot of AAA batteries.
This would be an OK camera for the money, if it wasn't for it's appetite for batteries. The problem is that even when the camera is off, it uses power -- to maintain the contents of its memory. In practical terms, this means several things: - The ...
Pros: Great price, easy to use, fun, fun, fun! Cons: Took me two days to get software to work, tech support is non-existent!
I read all the reviews, many of which were negative, before I bought the camera but decided to buy it anyway because of the price and size. I took a risk and truth be told it took me two days to get the software loaded and working. The tech support...
Pros: Inexpensive, and the added software. Cons: Too small & lightweight. And the light blue color is child like.
This is my first digital camera. I wasn't even looking to buy one, but I saw it for $39.99 and had to get it. If it was bad I figured I'd return it. I was initially concerned the battery life would stink, but to my surprise, the battery lasted longer ...
Pros: small, cute, compact Cons: pictures can't upload on the computer
I bought this camera thinking that it would be just perfect. I mean, I needed a new camera, and this was a digital camera as they say, and was small and compact, very cute and baby blue colored, I must admit I fell in love with this camera at first sight. I purchased it because it was cheap, at a low, accessible price, so I thought it would be perfect. After buying it, I tried using it, and sure it could take pictures, but for some odd reason they just don't display on my computer, even though my computer has all the requirements mentioned on the sipix box and I fully downloaded the software cd included with the camera. I clicked upload picture from camera millions of times, and after every single time, absolutely nothing would happen, I was shocked. I was in utter amazement and wonder, "Why would anyone on earth want a digital camera, if the pictures cannot be viewed on your computer?".the price was good, but the product wasn't
Missing an important point by izripzone ,Jun 27 '05
Pros: Small Cons: Produces very poor pictures. Very short battery life.
The camera is attractive, small and easy to use. The camera is also worthless for its very point of existence. If a camera takes very poor pictures, is it worth producing? I think not. A camera has only one function, to take pictures. If it can not perform this task in even a basic acceptable level, then why bother.
SiPIX Blink II NOT really ready for XP by eks1 ,Jul 14 '05
Pros: It's cheap and even Fried-Electronics carries it. Cons: None of the SOB's selling camera will tell you the TRUTH about it.
If you liked using this unit with Win98se and have recently upgraded to Windows XP Pro, like I did, you'll be quite upset to learn that: #1) It only works as a still shot camera now, because all the software that came with it ISN'T XP COMPATIBLE! and #2) Virtually everytime you plug the bugger in, XP wants to reinstall software for it! So you quickly run a Google search for the vendor (let me save you some trouble: http://www.sipixdigital.com/ ) ONLY TO DISCOVER that even the newest "driver" won't solve the problem AND that the company isn't providing ANY KIND of support aside from the horribly built website! Thanks guys! SEE IF WE EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM YOU AGAIN! Honestly, the management clowns that pulled this boner need to be sent back to charm-school to relearn the whole topic of Customer Support vs. Making a Fast Buck!
A Great Cam Always Ready 4 The Road by tinutu ,Jun 06 '04
Pros: Small, Hi-Res, Portable, easy to Use. What else do you Want? Cons: It's not so good for close-range shots. DON'T Move!
I think this is one of the best cameras in it's category (not so expensive), but it's kind of sloppy with the image. When you move the picture SCRAMBLES, but when it's attached to a PC it has a great image, even if you move.
This cam is great if you are a fan of the greatest sites(dawns, sunsets, forests, stuff like that...).
I believe it's great!!
Cute, tiny digital camera with minimal controls by skone99x ,Jul 25 '04
Pros: Very small, actually tiny; runs on a single AAA battery Cons: mediocre pictures, no zoom, drains battery quickly, minimal memory
Probably closest if not the smallest digital camera. Fixed focus lens, no LCD screen to worry about, built in memory. Sort of OK pictures with 640x480 being the largest.
The user guide with camera says that it can be used as a webcam, but we have never used it that way.
The camera drains the AAA battery quickly, even when not in use, so we have only used it a few times.
Cannot recommend this product as for a little more money there are better products in the market.
Blink II: Affordable, Functional, Fun, but not Professional. by makallic10 ,Nov 09 '03
Pros: Portable, inexpensive, stylish, novelty qualities. Cons: poor picture quality indoors/dark, battery drainer, not quite enough storage, video causes transfer issues.
Great little camera for taking spur-of-the-moment pictures, and you certainly can't complain about the size....quite portable.
Had some issues with copying a mixture of still and video files at the same time, also not too impressed with how easily pictures blur.
If you are looking to print your images or have crisp images, this camera is not for you. Really only usefull for web cam and unimportant pictures.
It's so cute you could just eat it up.................. by yolers ,Oct 21 '03
Pros: cheap, small, takes good pictures with steadiness and lots of light Cons: battery drainage, pictures aren't as clear as other digital cameras
I bought this because I need something cheap to take pictures of stuff I sell in auctions. I figured I would take pictures during the day that way I'll have plenty of light. So far, it's been great. As long as you keep REALLY steady when you take the picture AND have PLENTY of light....(light through your window in the day is just fine) the pictures come out better that you think they would.
It really serves it's purpose if you just need to take pictures of stuff that's just not that important...i.e. auction items, etc.
This thing is also SMALL...it's so tiny, it's adorable. it's measures about 2x2 inches that is and it's really thin...so you can put it anywhere and you'll have a camera ready.
The only problem is the battery. it constantly needs to use the battery to store the pictures..which puts a real drain on the battery. Once the battery dies...you lose all the pictures you took. The battery runs out pretty quick..even if you have nothing on memory. My suggestion is to take pictures..download them..and then take the battery out so you don't drain it.
Eats batteries like candy. I've taken 34 photos and used 4 batteries. I wasn't standing right next to my computer when I took the photos but only had about an hour of lag time between taking photos and downloading. It's cute and handy to carry but doesn't serve much purpose. This morning I put a brand new battery in, took two pictures and the battery was gone. I didn't expect a high tech camera for the money, but I did think I would be able to use it!
