Pros: action packed, great fantasy world, characters Cons: shallow characters, clichés, writing
I first started reading Feist's Riftwar Saga because of the Betrayal at Krondor computer game. Don't take me wrong, I'm a literature lover, but my choices of reading were almost all classics. So I bought Magician: Apprentice to know what this fantasy...
Pros: Good 'one-off' novel in the middle of a trilogy. Cons: Shouldn't have been included in trilogy.
Silverthorn is the second book in the classic Riftwar trilogy.
The plot is fairly detailed, someone has poisoned Princess Anita on the day of her wedding to Prince Arutha. The Prince sets out on a quest of epic proportions to find a herb...
Pros: great story.introduces new characters as well as old ones Cons: none other than i haven't read all Feists books!
Feist is an absolutely amazing writer. I hope that in the future we have many more writers like him. Silverthorn is a book full of magic, monsters, elves, dwarves, humans and many other mystical creatures and places.
Pros: Great new characters, excellent writing Cons: The slowest of the trilogy, but sets the stage for the grand finale
Okay, I'm biased. I just love Raymond Feist's style of writing. His description of the characters, their feelings, places, smells, textures, and sounds make his books come alive for me like no other writer that I know.
Pros: well developed plot, introduces familiar characters as new main characters Cons: still leaves you a book away from the answers you want
Feist did a wonderful job with his writing of "Silverthorn." Your favorite characters from Magician are looking for a cure to Princess Anita's poisoning, and perhaps even saving the kingdom in this thrilling tale.
Pros: Good as a stand alone novel Cons: A wasted second book!
The second book of three in the Riftwar saga really should have been a separate novel. It is a shame that the series is a trilogy because the second book always was going to go nowhere.
While the story builds on the first book (Magician) and...
Pros: will keep you turning pages Cons: different from the style of Magician but overall very good
Raymond E. Fiest Now has a new twist. As The story of the Rift War takes a completely new direction. Though it was hunted at during the process of Magician Master it has now been the complete focal point of the Series.
A poisoned bolt has struck down the Princess Anita on the day of her wedding to Prince Arutha of Krondor. To save his beloved, Arutha sets out in ...More at HotBookSale
