Pros: The absolute best strap in binding ever made Cons: none
In keeping with the traditions set by most sims products, the mater link is a genuinely innovative, hype free binding. Unlike other manufacturers sims follows the philosophy that their better off spending their money making better products than buying...
Pros: extremely adjustalble!, toe ramp, aluminum heel Cons: they didn't come with fries.
Sims has me sold! After I purchased my sims bindings I couldn't wait to see if they would live up to the promises that the sales man told me. Not only did they live up to the stiffness and suport that was promised to me. It was better. With a toe...
Pros: toe ramp, aluminum ratchets, nice padding on straps Cons: bolts may get loose at first, but after a while they settle in.
I first got these bindings in November of 2000 on ebay for about $100 new. These are my first pair of bindings. I was a little worried when I first tried them on because the toe strap was not centered over my boot. I later realized it wasn't a problem...
I am a real fan of these bindings for several reasons. First, I really like The lifted toe plate which does a good job of keeping my big boots out of the snow when making deep turns. The straps of these bindings are very comfortable and allow the rider...
Pros: Comfertable, great support Cons: always come loose
At first I put on these bindings and they were the most comfortable bindings I've ever rode in but as I got to the bottom of the lift I got ready to unstrap and to my surprise ice got jammed in the bindings. It took me a good 15 minutes to get the...
Strap-ons? Are you joking? by pmartinj ,Dec 05 '03
Pros: look kinda cool Cons: Let's jump into the next century, shall we?
Hi Fellow Snowboarders,
(Please excuse my ALL CAPS portions of this review, but the HTML just doesn't seem to work.)
I know I'm in the minority, but I just have to say that STRAP-ON SNOWBOARD BINDINGS, please excuse my phrase here, SUCK.
I've been SNOWBOARDING FOR 20 YEARS (that's not a typo!), and I skied for 10 years before that. I'm old. I have college degrees in science, engineering, and education, and I spent 3 seasons as the head snowboarding instructor at Timberline Ski Area (Mount Hood, Oregon). So I have some basis for making these claims.
So, after 20 years snowboarding, I have to say that the SWITCH N-TYPE BINDINGS ARE THE BEST BOOT / 'BOARD INTERFACE EVER INVENTED. Unfortunately, Switch (now Vans) quit making the top-of-the-line SPECIAL-N and TEAM-N bindings about 2 years ago. However, sometimes you can find some product here: http://www.snowboardingforgrownups.com
Okay, I'll quit ranting and raving now, and return this forum to its original programming
