I began using Slim Fast in college because I have always been on the heavier side. With a new exercise and diet plan, I incorporated the shakes and lost 15lbs!

I prefer the shakes because I've always been a drinker more than an eater :) The Slim-Fast plan is easy to follow and the shakes are great because they are easy to take if you're on the move all the time. The flavors are also good.. I drink Strawberry Cream and Rich Chocolate Royale.

The best thing is that I don't feel like I'm missing out on nutrients because each shake has all the vitamins you could possibly need and even miss out otherwise. The only thing is that sometimes it does feel like the cans tinge the taste of the drink, but this isn't always the case and is even less when the drink is cold.

I used Slim Fast shakes for weight loss and it actually works, if you can stick with the diet plan and exercise for at least a half an hour every day.(walking etc.) My favorite was banana creme but they have discontinued it. Be sure to chill it, they aren't as tasty if they aren't cold. Some of the flavors are very sweet.

Not only does slimfast cause diarrhea and stomach cramps(among other things), but can affect lab values from all of the artificial "junk" in it. After reading the label, I think I would rather use the canola and soybean oil to cook some veggies with. I bought a case of slim fast from a local store because it was on sale and I had a coupon for a substantial discount. I was only using it to substitute one can a day for a meal. What a mistake! Anyone using it should not only read the label, but do a little research on the ingredients. It definitely should not be used by anyone, let alone people with any type of diabetes. I can't believe that this company is still around. For those of you who think they do fine with slimfast products, give it some time. Soon you will not only feel bad (health-wise) but will eventually suffer from hair loss and other problems with your body that you never dreamed of.
