Pros: Glides on easily; silky smooth finish; no breakouts. Cons: Product "peels" off once dry when attempting to cover it with foundation.
Somewhat new to the concept of "makeup primers", this Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer is actually only the second such product I've tried so far. After receiving the NARS
Makeup Primer as a ...
Pros: Ummm...I like the heavy glass bottle it comes in? Cons: Does nothing it claims to; no difference at all when using this product; over-priced
I'm a huge makeup junkie and am always checking out new products. I recently saw a presentation of Smashbox products on QVC, which re-sparked my interest in Smashbox products. I love their products but have found some bad products in their ...
Pros: Velvety, concentrated, makeup stays on longer, fills in fine lines Cons: Expensive, pump bottle stops working before product is gone
I like a couple of cosmetic primers a lot but I bought a kit from QVC.com that included a full sized bottle of Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer and, of course, I had to try it. I had read varying reviews form very positive to very negative ...
Pros: Covers some skin flaws, makes skin appear smoother Cons: makes my skin feel greasy, doesn't cover large wrinkles
I recently received a sample of the Smashbox product Photo Finish Primer. I was excited to try it since the other 2 primers I already own have been less than thrilling. The sample came as .08oz. The actual product is in a white and black "bottle" with ...
Pros: Prolongs foundation life.
Texture
Good at mattifying skin Cons: Price
Not great at covering pores
can be flaky looking if over applied
I became interested in purchasing this product after reading about other people who use this under their Bare Minerals foundation. It worked well for them so I wanted to give it a try. I bought the pump dispenser bottle on sephora.com for 36$ It is ...
Pros: A little goes a looong way, smooth, silky skin in a jif! Cons: Uhhhh, could be cheaper? But it's a good value; a little goes a long way.
I first stumbled on this product at the Sephora in my neighborhood, and tried a little sample on the back of my hand. Instantly smooth, and my hand (rather sun-damaged, sad to say) looked airbrushed! When I went to the cash-register to ring up my ...
Pros: really good at covering up dry skin and redness Cons: can cause breakouts if used too frequently
I had heard about this product through some on-line friends of mine, and my fiance surprised me and got it for me for Christmas since I could never justify spending that much on makeup. I truly love this stuff. I thought I would only wear it on special ...
Pros: A blank canvas, no lines, bumps or bruises! That's what you get! Cons: Only Con? I ran out & must wait for my next dose!
After reading all of the Reviews, I cant tell you how shocked I am! I also received a sample of the Photo Finish Primer with a purchase. I have used other Primers, including the BEST, according to much magazine reviews.(I'm not allowed to mention the ...
Pros: creates a perfect, smooth palette on your face Cons: expensive!
Yeah, I think I may have said in another review that there are few things in this world that this poor student would drop forty bucks on, but alas, I digress! Smashbox Photo Finish Primer! AH! Can you hear the angels singing? Yeah, totally worth forty ...
Disappointed in Photo Finish Primer by coolgram ,Feb 09 '07
Pros: Theory is great and first two bottles did give my complexion a smooth look. Cons: Too hard to get out of the bottle and undesirable peeling effect.
I have purchased the Photo Finish Foundation Primer three times. The first two times I had to try to clean the pump, then unscrew the top and dig the product out of a half-empty jar and I used it until I couldn't get any more product out. I kept wondering why the manufacturer didn't change the delivery system since I couldn't be the only person with that complaint. THEN I got my last bottle-and I do mean LAST! This one was pale pink in color, and it gelled in the bottle! I tried taking the top off and digging it out as before, but the product just rolled around in my fingers. I give up.
Pros: Smooth appearance to skin, foundation lasts longer, cuts down dramatically on oily appearance Cons: The price is a bit steep but it really does last a long time.
I have very oily skin. Makeup seems to melt off my face by the end of the day. This product really helps keep my face from becoming so oily during the day and gives my complexion such a smooth look. I find that I use much less foundation than I did also. People I haven't seen lately have noticed how great my skin looks. I am hooked.
Pros: smooth, silky, make up seems to last longer. pores diminish, foundation glides on. Cons: pricey
This is the second primer I have tried, and then I bought a cheaper one after that. I am definitely going to stick with the Smashbox. It made my skin feel wonderful, pores almost disappeared and I even caught two women talking about me on the train. They saw me looking and said, "You have beautiful skin." What a nice experience.
Pros: Gives you INCREDIBLY smooth skin. Nothing else I've tried even comes close. Cons: A bit pricey, but to its credit, it makes even the cheap foundations look good.
WOW... is all I can say about this product.
I first used a sample and was amazed at how wonderfully smooth this product made my skin. So I just had to buy it.
I don't usually write reviews but I felt that I had to say something in this products defense once I read the other reviews.
Granted, it is not inexpensive but first, with this primer a little goes a long way. You don't need to put globs of it on. Just a few drops transform your skin into silk. And second, it will save you money on foundations; even cheap foundations look good after I put this primer on first.
There is truly no describing the silky feeling of this primer. You just have to try it. Try a sample first if you don't believe me. You'll be hooked.
Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer-Worth it !! by ambition ,Jan 01 '07
Pros: Smooths skin and fills in pores and lines and helps my makeup hold up better. Cons: It is pricey.
I've tried many products and this primer proved to work! It makes my skin feel really really smooth and it smooths out my skin texture and helps to fill in my pores and lines. This helps my foundation not to settle in my pores and fine lies so my finished look looks more smooth and flawless. My skin gets very oily and I've noticed that when I use Photo Finish my foundation lasts longer and holds up better and I also don't have to use quit as much foundation. The most important thing is that it doesn't break my skin out!I do love it, I really notice the difference if I don't use it. However, it's not cheap,it's a little pricey, but it does last a while and I don't need a lot of product to get a good result, and the final results of my finished face are worth it!
