Pros: No by-products, small kibble size Cons: Expensive but worth the money
I have been feeding my guys Solid Gold for awhile now. Sometimes I change there brand of kibbles to see which they prefer. I try my best to feed them good quality food that is healthy for them and that they love. Joey and Sabrina don't really care for ...
My vet suggested a natural food years ago but I wasn't ready to pay the price. Kharma has had what can only be surmised as "kitty IBS" and it got worse after we moved. So, following the big cat food recall, I decided to try Solid Gold Katz-n-Flocken ...
Pros: high-quality, easily digestible, great taste Cons: none
Solid Gold Katz-n-Flocken is high-quality food that is very easy to digest. It comes in teeny-tiny X-shaped crunchy nuggets; and contains nothing artificial, no by-products, and no carcinogens, like supermarket-grade food does. I chose this food after...
Pros: High quality ingredients, solved intestinal troubles Cons: none except it costs a little more
I am currently owned by 6 cats, and this food has solved some intestinal problems, including occasional diarrhea, in several of my cats that the vet was unable to diagnose or treat except to suggest "irritable bowel".
I feel good about the...
Pros: Better for the cat's health, more efficient food-usage Cons: price, limited retail outlets
My wife and I first purchased this product on the advice of a store associate. It was recommended to help alleviate some allergy problems a Persian cat we own was having.
We have three cats - two Persians and one Domestic Long Hair. At...
Pros: High-quality ingredients Cons: Pricey; may cause digestive difficulties
I've had Willow for about two years now and she has from the beginning been a bit of a challenge. She's terribly skittish and prone to hiding (it's always fun to have your cat leap out of nowhere onto the bed at 3 am), and her digestion is, shall we say,...
Pros: Holistic; no corn, wheat, or soy; good amount of fiber; all life stages. Cons: Poop smells bad, cats refused to eat it after 2 months, too many carbohydrates
I've been making a point to feed all of my cat's premium foods from day one and I have to say that Solid Gold is the worst in this catagory. In an effort to econimize, I switched my babies from EVO to Solid Gold Katz-n-Flocken and although they didn't ...
SO glad I discovered Solid Gold Katz-n-Flocken !! by cb2b63 ,Nov 05 '06
Pros: easily digested; eating less (which is a good thing); seem very satisfied; happy kitties! Cons: None as yet...keeping fingers crossed on the vomiting issue!
My two registered American Shorthair cats have been barfing for 3 years, at least 4 times weekly. After much research, I decided they were allergic to gluten. It's in ALL the food from pet and grocery stores.
Desperate to find a gluten-free food, I started reading reviews on epinions and started feeding Gold 8 days ago.
One cat has barfed once...that's it. I am hoping that once they get used to it (I changed cold-turkey, no mixing kibbles here!) we won't have any more barfing...
They also are eating less; I will post again after a couple of months!
Thanks to all reviewers who led me this direction!
Finicky cat has found her food by kohnhed ,Oct 17 '09
Pros: High protein.no grains.no gluten. Highly digestible. And my finicky cat loves it. Cons: None so far.
We've been feeding our cat Natures Logic which is a tremendous product. Our cat lost weight. Her fur became glossy and her shedding decreased dramatically.
But after 9 months, she won't eat the kibble.
I got a sample of Solid Gold and the cat loves it. I had tried several other premium foods and she wouldn't eat any of them.
I compared the Natures Logic and Solid Gold and they are similar. I love the holistic approach and eliminating the crap used in most manufacturers.
Our cat has always eaten her food too fast and then vomits.
She doesn't vomit with Solid Gold which means its very digestible.
Its also a little cheaper than Natures Logic.
So I will continue to feed her Solid Gold and monitor her closely.
But so far, so good.
