All the Buzzzzzzzzzz on Sonicare Advance Power Toothbrush 4100

by elainehn Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Jun 28 '04
Pros: Fantastically clean teeth!
Cons: Messy splatters if you don't keep your mouth closed!
The Sonicare Advance Power Toothbrush 4100 is the ‘entry level’ offering from Philips’ Sonicare line. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of some of the higher end models (more about this in a bit), but as the website ...

Recommended by the dental queen.

by clooneyfan , Jan 14 '04
Pros: My teeth are cleaner. Especially good for those with braces, crowns and other dental problems.
Cons: Expensive.
When I was a kid, I don’t think I took very good care of my teeth. I was always getting cavities. That’s bad enough, but they were also soft, so I actually got indentations from wearing braces. I am not exaggerating when I tell you I must have fillings ...

Manual Toothbrushes are History!

by kundansen , Aug 24 '04
Pros: Great feeling! Excellent cleaning ability
Cons: Sealed battery, training curve, transportability
Looking for an easy way to brighten up your day (starting from your teeth)? Look right here. I have been using the $10 Walmart rotary toothbrushes (Colgate, etc) for quite some time, and decided to spend some extra cash on the Sonicare 4100 to see ...

Plaque attack

by jierik , Jan 24 '06
Pros: Excellent cleaning results, timer, easy to use
Cons: Nikkel-cadmium battery
Half of the weight of my teeth is made up of metal alloy, and the other half apparently had lots of plaque, which I wasn't aware of until my dental hygienist complained. Honestly, my teeth looked quite good from the outside, but on the inside apparently ...

GREAT toothbrush - My teeth havent been cleaner in years

by greenglowz , Feb 25 '04
Pros: Great battery life, AMAZINGLY clean teeth! Easy to clean and maintain brush.
Cons: None!
Great toothbrush, especially if you're a bit lazy. I was doing fine with regular brushes, but I really never brushed for the two minutes that dentists recommend... Even so, I thought I was doing a pretty good job... Man was I wrong... I thought my ...

Sonicare Advance 4100

by joy92 , Jun 13 '07
Pros: Cleans great; Worth the amount of my investment.
Cons: Expensive and toothbrush replacements are $25 for two brushes. Need a place to plug-in recharger.
This is the best toothbrush that I have ever owned. I have been using this toothbrush for six years. After using the toothbrush for six months, my hygienist and dentist notice a definite improvement. My teeth had less plaque and were whiter. People ...

Great brush with only one problem...

by wesstanden , Sep 15 '03
Pros: Almost immediate, satisfying results. Battery is quite good, can be taken on short trips.
Cons: However, take care not to let the battery run down completely on those short trips!
The Sonicare Advance power toothbrush was purchased on the recommendation of my dentist, who said that there was no better way to get one's teeth clean than a Sonicare. I went out and bought the 4100 to give it a try, and so far, apart from a brief p ...

Amazing!!
by crprevete ,Apr 24 '06
Pros: Healthier gums and teeth!
Cons: Still waiting to find one after 3 years.
I have owned my sonicare for almost 3 years now. I loved my sonicare, but I never really knew how good it was until I went to the dentist recently. I hadn't been to the dentist in about 3 years, I know, not a good thing. But I had to switch dentists and I was apprehensive of doing so. So, when I finally went to a new dentist, he was amazed at how clean and healthy my teeth were for not going to a dentist for 3 years. I gained a whole new respect for my sonicare. I will be purchasing a new one as soon as this battery dies. Which, seems to be soon because the amount of use time between charging has decreased tremendously. But, after 3 years, I would expect this. I would definitely recommend this product!!

Good vibrations
by magpie3021 ,Mar 04 '06
Pros: Whiter, cleaner, healthier teeth
Cons: Expensive
After trying several disposable battery-powered tooth brushes (ie. the Crest Spin Brush) with little success, my mom recommended the Sonicare to me. At first I was hesitant to spend $70 on a toothbrush, but now I am convinced it was a worthwhile investment. This toothbrush is great! It is powered by a rechargeable battery and the brush head vibrates on its own, which means you don't have to press down hard to get teeth looking and feeling clean. My teeth look whiter than ever since I've started using this brush, and they just feel cleaner. One of my favorite features of the brush is its timer, which beeps every 30 seconds signaling the user to switch focus to another quadrinth of the mouth. The timer ensures that the user spends enough time brushing. The bottom line: this is an expensive investment but it really does improve the appearance of teeth as well as general oral health.

Beware sonicare won't stand behind their products
by captaindave ,Mar 16 '05
Pros: Cleans well when it works
Cons: Unreliable, and warranty is useless. You wont get any customer service
I have owned this item for less than two months. Twice the magnets have come off the head rendering brush inoperative. Sonicare says heads aren't warrantied. IF THIS CONTINUES I WILL HAVE TO THROW THE THING OUT AND LOOK FOR A RELIABLE TOOTHBRUSH. Never again will I buy a sonicare prouduct.

Squeaky clean teeth
by guychicago ,Sep 26 '06
Pros: Squeaky clean teeth.
Cons: I sometimes forget to floss. Keep your mouth closed or toothpaste, spit fly all over.
My dental technician has been warning me that I am not getting my teeth clean enough to stop plaque and gum recession. I bought a Sonicare a4100 at Target for $49.99. I have been using it daily and my teeth feel much cleaner. Initially I forgot to floss, but now I do both at least once a day. My next dental cleaning is Jan. I am curious as to the dental techs reaction to the state of my teeth. This is the cheapest Sonicare I could find in Chicago.

I have been using a brand name whitening toothpaste with the Sonicare. My teeth are whiter. The brown caffeine stains on my front bottom teeth are getting smaller. I am focusing on brushing the remaining stained areas more to see if I can get rid of the stain.

Swish
by tixydo ,Oct 14 '07
Pros: Cleanest teeth ever without loosing gums
Cons: Expensive (both initially and replacement brushes)
I just used my Sonicare toothbrush for the first time and I thought maybe it was broken because it didn't really feel like it was working (I'm used to the electric toothbrushes that rip off the top layer of enamel and half of your gums), but when I was finished my teeth felt as clean as they do right after a dentist cleaning!
