Pros: Power, cost, and miles of forged plastic. Dude! Cons: Un-illuminated American volume knob.... I mean, Dude!
The GX470 is a good basic unit with just a few flaws. The sound is good, but not great, with the occasionally tinny high end and somewhat muddy low end typical of modern speaker technology under $500. The speakers are quite directional with a ...

Excellent system
by bigbuff ,Feb 18 '07
Pros: 3 disc changer, audio in jack (mp3/tv), dual cassettes Cons: speaker wires are to short, easily fixed with extra wire
This system was the most contemporary looking but also had a big bang in a small package. It easily connects to my mp3 player and tv which is a bonus and the subwoofer adds a whole other element to the sound experience. All songs i played are clear and powerful.

GREAT STEREO FOR THE PRICE GREAT BASS 400WATT OUTPUT POWER!!!
by eagles11 ,Jun 08 '06
Pros: Great sound. Powerful Bass Cons: Short Speaker wire
A couple weeks ago my Panasonic SC-AK630 Mini hi-fi system broke down so I decided to check out Sony's recently updated MHC series. The MHC-GX570XM had XM capabilities and 460 Watts of power but I don't use satalite radio so I went with the MHC-GX470 and I don't regret it at all.
SOUND QUALITY
This stereo sounds supurb even at high volumes. It's good enough to rival my friends Bose sound system. The highs are clear, the mids are with no distortion and the bass has a clean smooth solid sound.
POWER OUTPUT AND VOLUME
This stereo totol RMS output is 400W. Just below average for a sound system this size but when you turn this stereo up you'd probably think it has 600W. It's loud!!!
STYLE
A good clean look that fits well in any modern living space. Silver and black speaker cabinets with metalic blue speakers.
CONS
short speaker wire
