Pros: well-made and attractive, decent sound quality and features Cons: no battery backup, check orientation before installing
I'm a long-time NPR junkie (your suspicions are confirmed: I am a pinko-commie, though I don't have an ACLU membership). So when I moved to a semi-rural Midwestern community, I was a little surprised to find no "Morning Edition" on the left end of ...
Pros: Easy to install with directions, CD player is fine. Good Sony sound. Cons: Power cord is FM antenna, which has its challenges.
We were looking for a new kitchen radio, a basic model, one that tells the time, AM and FM, along with a CD player. There were "cube" models around but we wanted something small and out of the way. That is when we came upon the Sony ICF-CD543RM Clock ...
Pros: Nice, pleasing sound. Cons: Lousy CD features. No external antenna.
This unit had so much potential but ultimately fell short in a number of areas. Construction appears to be of quality materials, the styling is good and it carries the SONY name. So far, so good. It handles a variety of CD formats and has a rich pleasing ...
Pros: Looks nice and sleek and matches the accessories in the kitch. Cons: Sound sucks Costs a lot Antenna sucks
We bought our "clock radio cd" about 5 years ago when the local Sears store had them on sale. We had a GE undercounter am\fm stereo cassette at the previous place, and really liked it, so I thought the Sony would blow it away as far as ...
Pros: Handy, under-counter design. Acceptable sound quality. Cons: Poor FM reception unless power cord is lengthened.
Living in a rural area, I wasn't expecting great FM reception but out of the box this Sony product with its power cord FM antenna was unacceptable. Disappointing after spending $ 90. Not finding any information on the antenna, I opened it up and ...
Pros: Cute; weather radio, broadcast tv sound, bass boost, slick mounting Cons: No under-light, no cable tv sound, no auto volume countrol, i prefer tuning knobs
Not a bad unit; looks pretty. AM is staticy the way I have it mounted, but I didn't extend the cor ...
This product is super easy to install. The sound quality is excellent, reception is wonderful, it comes with a magnetic remote to place on fridge & it saves counter space! I have no problems with this system. I LOVE it!

Pros: Makes sense, saves space in kitchen. Sound is good. Cons: LCD screen too small.
This Sony undercounter radio is a great crowd pleaser. The version with the TV was beyond my price range but this guy is just right in terms of price, function and SIZE. Yes it fits snugly under the kitchen counter and it was a charm to install. This is going to be THE Christmas gift that we will be giving to our friends who enjoy cooking or handing out in their kitchens.
Buttons are big and slip proof just in case your fingers are greasy while prepping. If you want a better sounding one there is the higher end model which is really sleek but will set you back another 30 bucks or so.
I purchased this Sony product... by cosmic_dt3000 ,Mar 24 '03
I purchased this Sony product for its looks and to listen to NPR FM in my kitchen. The Digital Tuner will not find or lock onto the NPR stations that are about 60 miles away. My $20.00 clock radio has more selectivity.
