Very Practical
by annamichelle ,Nov 09 '05
Pros: Very Compact and Takes Great Pictures!! Cons: Not for extra professional use!
I love this product because it is small enough to carry in my purse yet it still takes quality pictures. It is really easy to use once you get used to it. I've had alot of fun taking pictures with it. I like how you can also record video feed on it.
For the price of this camera it is a steal. If you love taking pictures you will get good use from it. I also have a Minolta digital camera which I paid about $500 bucks for. I feel like I wasted my money because although it is a professional-like camera, it is too big and bulky to carry around to functions. I have got more use from my Cybershot because it is smaller and the pictures are just as good.
I would recommend this camera to those who like to take pictures of friends and family, things of that nature.

So Far So Great
by oakie25 ,Sep 22 '09
Pros: Good size, good life, don't have to charge every two hours Cons: battery charger is weak, need external charger for more batteries to use.
I have been using my new camera for about 3 weeks now..For the price it is great, I see great battery life and easy to follow options. Since I stepped up from a cheap canon digital camera, I have seen this to be one of the nicest I have seen in quite some time, even at all the weddings I have been to, where it is like a camera show!!

3rd time disappointed...
by trisync ,Aug 09 '05
Pros: great fit in the pocket
great day photos
you can literally shoot for hours Cons: nite photos suck!
I've owned the DSCP10 and DSCP100. Believe it or not the 1st was stolen and I lost the 2nd in a niteclub. Both took excellent night and low-lite indoor photos. I'm sorely disappointed in the fact that the shaky hand appears all low lite photo's (especially w/florescent lites) and the pics are a blurry mess. Other than that, the day photos are great. Problem is that if you shoot 5 & 7 mp pics, you need software to greatly reduce the size of the pics to send them online. I was a happy shooter at a wedding where I put 175 - 7 mp pics on the memory stick pro with storage and battery to spare. I had to put the pics on cds to mail them for others because I didn't have anything to reduce them with... But for my purposes, a great camera... one that ergonomically fits into my pocket and I was able to use the extra battery and memory sticks I had from my prior camera.

Good Sony Product!
by iwanribble ,Nov 01 '05
Pros: Lightweight, Very small & compact, long battery life, Included dock, Touch-Screen LCD, High Quality Video Cons: Must use dock for DV cable, Can't change settings from viewfinder, Tape comes out bottom.
I have had the DCR-HC42 MiniDV Handycam by Sony for only a few months now, but so far I am very impressed. Sony jam packs ease of use and functionality into a tiny package! Coming over from a Cannon ELURA40, that I had many problems with, I'm glad I made the change.
