Pros: Very good image quality, stabilized 12X zoom, 3.0 inch LCD screen, and good ergonomics Cons: Mediocre battery life, No RAW or TIFF format, and above average chromatic aberration.
One of the hottest battles in the digital camera wars is currently being waged in the monster zoom digicam market. Most monster zoom digicams provide users with a wide range (10X-12X) image stabilized zoom, much of the flexibility and control of a ...
Pros: Good optics, image quality, features, battery life, build quality, large LCD Cons: Price, speed, size
I used both the 5

Megapixel Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-H1 and the new 6
-Megapixel
Sony DSC-H2. Both of them worked pretty well, but its competition was better in focusing time and size. ...
Pros: One of the fastest digital cameras with a 3-in LCD and ultra zoom... Cons: Cannot use external flash on this camera...
One of my friends just purchased this new Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H5 digital camera and asked me to check it out to see if it was worth it or not. I had used this camera for a week before he came and took it away from me. This camera costs ...
Pros: Well-built, great photo quality, full feature set yet easy to use! top-of-the-line! Cons: Strange purple haze on LCD only when shooting in sunlight (but doesn't affect pictures)
I picked up this camera a few days ago after lots of research and deliberation. I knew I wanted something better than the myriad of compact, 4-6 Megapixel, run-of-the-mill cameras. Price: I wasn't so much concerned with the price of this camera as ...
Pros: Build quality, handling, HUGE LCD, fluid focusing, PHOTO QUALITY. Cons: Bet she'd run longer if she used 4 batteries instead of only two....
I agonized over the choice of what to augment my Kodak DX7590 with. No mistake, the DX7590 is a great camera, but I needed something with a longer zoom and higher resolution. The dSLR route I did not care to go as the trade-off is (at an affordable ...
Pros: Crystal clear picture..excellent color with an AMAZING ZOOM. Cons: little bulky, buttons could have been better placed to avoid having them accidentally pushed.
I find that this camera was GREAT at the Store, because of the lighting in the store, it was able to click off picture after picture without any slowdown. Now that I have owned it for over a year, I wish I would have waited for one that was a little ...
I have owned a Sony DSC-H5 for a year and found today that it will no longer autofocus when I press the shutter button halfway down. I treat my camera equipment very carefully, so abuse is not the issue. After reading posts from other consumers who have ...
Pros: Easy to use, lots of manual features Cons: Auto Focus shutter button stops working after 1000-2000 shots.
The Sony Cybershot DSC-H5 is my second digital camera, a huge step up from the simple point and click Nikon that I bought five years ago. Like that camera, you can use the Cybershot in a fully automated mode right out of the box. But what makes this ...
Pros: cheap, fast, accurate, great glass, decent movie mode Cons: high ISO's are bad, movie mode focus poor, flash takes too long to ready.
well, it's a JPEG camera so you kind of have to know you're not getting the best of the best. Other reviewers of this product seem to be judging against cameras that cost twice as much. I got mine for $250 and it's the best JPEG exclusive digital ...
Pros: Very large LCD screen, great pictures, large zoom, high MP Cons: Battery life with standard alkaline batteries, time between pictures with flash
My wife and I got this camera for a trip to Ireland. Wanted something with higher megapixels and a higher zoom than our Canon PowerShot A75 (also a great camera by the way). After much research and looking we went with the Sony for three reasons: 1) ...
Pros: Photo quality, ease of use, features, look and feel Cons: Apparently mediocre quality shortens camera life
Like others here, I believe the Sony DSC-H5 is a great looking camera that's got numerous cool features and looks good, too. Picture quality very good for the "amateur" who just needs good family pics and videos. As others have described, however, all ...
Pros: Great pictures and easy to use Cons: Shutter button pops off
I previously owned another Sony camera and no problems so I figured I would buy another. I have owned my H5 since June 2006 and have not had any issues until last week when the shutter button popped off. After doing some research I have found that this is a common problem with the camera. I just paid to have it repaired at the tune of $190. I guess I learned my lesson and will purchase a Canon SLR next time.
Sony Cyber-shot® DSC-H5 Digital Camera by jeffdivi ,Dec 27 '06
Pros: Big LCD Screen. Good Movie clip feature. Cons: Flash delay, poor pictures, poor battery life.
I brought this camera back after two weeks of using it. I could not get good action shots inside (in any mode). They all came out blurry. I returned it and bought the Cannon Power Shot S3 IS. While at the store, I used the display models for the Sony and the Cannon that were next to each other. Taking the same shots of my children moving (distances, lighting) the Cannon shots came out great and the Sony were again blurry. I have not had any problems with the Cannon since, and glad I changed cameras.
powerful but it has cons.. by biloidol ,Jan 11 '07
Pros: All is fast, nice to use. big LCD Cons: purple fringing , barrel distortion, wide-angle is not so wide, don't believe in 1000ISO
Nice camera:quite flexible easy and nice to use,i think also good for advanced amateurs. Works fast and nice.
I was a little disappointed with pics quality: photos are sharp, colors are ok, but there are noticeable distortions, purple fringing and noises when ISO is over 400. ISO1000 is just theoretical parameter - it provides strong noises and really poor colors. Thanks to the SteadyShot allows you a lot, so it's better to shot at lower shutter speeds than higher ISO..
Sony DSC-H2 Shutter Problem by donnamcochran ,Sep 28 '07
Pros: Takes great pictures. Cons: Shutter button pops off.
I bought this camera after doing research on the Internet, but apparently I did not do enough. Although it is easy to use and takes beautiful pictures, after only several months of use the shutter button popped off the camera and it is not usable. I have now done more research on the Internet and see that this is a common problem. My husband and I are on a 3 month long vacation around the U.S. and now have no camera. I would never buy this camera again and strongly recommend that you don't either.
