The new Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-T200 is very similar to the previous model (S

Pros: Speed, accurate AF focusing, liveview, build quality, large screen, plenty more. Cons: Would prefer +/-3 EV adjustment
As mentioned in my not-very-snappy title, I would differ with those who suggest the Canon 40D is an upgrade for people who own a 20D or 30D. This really is not so much an upgrade as an entirely different camera. I will endeavour to say why here. Please ...
Pros: Nice design, good build quality, huge screen, impressive feature set, cool slide show Cons: Complex interface, hopeless battery life, terrible flash, poor image quality, especially in low light. AVOID!
I struggled for weeks over whether to buy this Sony DSC-T200, or the Canon 870IS. The Canon seemed to be the right choice, as I'm an avid photographer (often shooting with a pro-level DSLR) and ultimately felt that Canon's optics and wide angle lens was ...
Pros: Fast, sharp, very flexible, intuitive and very good at handling all situations. Cons: None that come to mind, it's a beauty.
I purchased this camera almost two months ago it has more than lived up to its hype. This little jewel is destined for greatness and will be sitting in a lot of professional camera bags as a back-up, if not primary body. Most people see it as an ...
Pros: Quality, Ease of Use, Size, Video Capability, Built in Lense cover & Flash, ISO Speed Cons: No viewfinder, lack of knowledge of camera user (me!)
Okay, the story goes like this... I am a huge researcher when it comes to making large purchases (and yes, I consider this a large purchase) and making sure I get a good deal and/or product! I research through many different outlets including here, ...
Pros: Decent value since the price dropped $ 145.00 right after Christmas .
Cons: Image quality not up to the hype of media reviews .
First let me say that I recommend this camera if you are making your first digital SLR purchase , especially if you already have Canon lenses . The price to image quality ratio is in your favor .Also check out the Nikon D200 if you are just starting out ...
Pros: Excellent construction, great pictures, nice color depth, intuitive menus, 10 shot self timer Cons: agonizingly slow first flash shot, features taken out that seem more driven by marketing
I'm not sure what epinions has done, but they've completely corrupted their database. This review is for the Canon SX100 IS.I love the camera. Because the camera is so excellent, the relatively minor deficiencies really stand out. If I ...
Pros: Large touchscreen, easy to use, takes great pictures, fun features. Cons: Screen gets smudgy if you use fingers, battery drains quickly when taking pictures often.
Let's start off by saying that I'm a picky teenage girl. I wanted a camera that was very nice and one of the requirements for this camera was a large screen. I found the Sony Cybershot DSC-T200 online and fell in love. I admit, I didn't do much research ...
Pros: The touch screen control function is logical and camera setting is very good. Cons: The price seems a little high.Auto white balance in Program is poor
The T200 has camera with an 8.0 MP sensor and a 5x zoom, 35-175mm film. The optics are folded within the body. Only external controls are power switch, image view and zoom button. All controls are reached through the touch screen. The screen is 8.8cm ...
Pros: Great zoom, fairly small body, manual controls, very good battery life. Cons: only average portrait pictures
I bought this camera as a take anywhere camera. It was a great deal at office depot for just over $200. I looked at a couple sony camera and the canon S5. The S5 and one of the sony cameras where to big. The canon just looked better than the compact ...
Pros: Compact, huge touchscreen LED screen, different colors available. Cons: Menus and controls could be much more user friendly and picture quality seems inconsistent
I bought this as an early x-mas gift for the girlfriend (in October/November). She tends to misplace things so having a bright red camera was a definite plus. It's a solid camera and one of the first to feature the fully touch screen interface. Although not particularly user friendly, the menus do get easier to use with time.
If you are an "amateur" or "professional" photographer, I don't know why you'd even be looking at this kind of camera, but for the rest of us, it will suffice. Picture quality seems to be inconsistent, but that could be due to operator error or failure to apply the appropriate setting. That said, we've taken some really good pictures.
One other minor drawback would be the standard zoom. Perhaps this is an adjustable setting, but I'm going to assume it isn't. We've found that we've had to take a few steps back to get the pictures we want, i.e. including all friends' faces in the shot, getting all of a scene in the shot, etc.
This camera can not beat other camera in any individual feature, but no other camera can beat all features of this camera.
More about the battery: using AA battery seems like a "hate" or "like" feeling as personal preference. It is the same logic as the junk 16M SD card that comes with the camera. Everyone will buy a (at least) 512M, so why complaining about the AA battery, a set of rechargeable get me almost 400 shoot and 6 one minute movies.
Pros: excellent in low lighting Cons: touch screen is tricky
My husband purchased this as an upgrade to my DSC-T1 cyber shot. My biggest complaint about my previous camera was low lighting...pictures just would not turn out if the lighting was not ideal.
This camera takes awesome pictures in low lighting! It brightens up the picture really nicely without having to do any manual fixes.
The one thing I don't care for is limited touch screen. It is more cumbersome to switch modes from camera to video...because everything is done via the touch screen. While you can use your fingers, the stylus is better because all the icons are small...so the tip of your finger is a little too wide to work with.
There are some really neat features, including an enhanced slideshow feature that you can add music to and change transition types. I haven't tried the software piece yet.
There is also a "smile" feature...you can set the camera to only take a picture when it recognizes everyone is smiling. It works about 70% of the time from my testing. The more people in the picture the more tricky it is.
Overall I like the camera, I just wish it wasn't so dependent on the touch screen.
