Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W55 Digital Camera, A Review by A Camera Techno Peasant

by the_gas_man Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Oct 13 '07
Pros: I've figured out how to operate it and if "I" can, anyone can.
Cons: A week later and I'm still reading about features packed into it and learning
What, you may well ask, is "The Gasman" doing in "Electronics", attempting to review a Sony digital camera. I won't even try to pretend that I'm an expert on this product. I received it as a birthday gift and I've been experimenting with it for a week. ...

A Reliable General Purpose Utility Camera.

by aashok Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Mar 19 '07
Pros: Tons of features yet easy to use for my wife, sharp LCD, sharper pictures.
Cons: Plain boxy design, lack of Sony STYLE, no zoom while recording video.
WHY DID I BUY IT? A few weeks back, I was walking up Madison avenue and 56th street when I got the typical ‘sky-is-falling’ frantic call from my wife. “I need to list a property and I can’t find my camera. I need one so please ...

Sony DSC-W55 Digital Camera - Old Model, Still Relevant Technology

by veda815 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Sep 06 '09
Pros: Cheap, 7.2 mp, easy to carry, good for quick snapshots
Cons: No raw mode, buttons turn in your pocket, not for a hobbyist
I bought this camera about three years ago to replace a now archaic Sony camera.  My criteria was simple at the time: something with many megapixels and a good body shape that would fit into my pocket.  I was sold on the camera because it came ...

You Get What You Pay For

by mtrenck , Aug 23 '08
Pros: Quick shutter speed, easy to use, takes outstanding pictures.
Cons: A little pricey. Easy to get overwhelmed with optional features.
They always say that you get what you pay for.... purchase the cheapest camera available and you'll take cheapest looking pictures. Spend a bit more, and you'll get a bit more. The Sony DSC-W55, one of the Sony cameras in the Cyber-shot series is ...

Small and comfortable.

by dnhoshor , May 22 '08
Pros: Small, light, comfortable, good battery life.
Cons: Small buttons.
I got the Jabra BT8040 Bluetooth headphone to use with my Palm Treo cell phone. It was easy to pair up with the phone and sounds good. No one I've spoken to using the headphone has complained of it sounding bad. I especially like the ear gels Jabra ...

Good Headphones for the Money

by wallyanti , Jan 21 '08
Pros: Good sound for the money; Intuitive navigation/volume buttons;
Cons: Poor bass; Uncomfortable; Poor noise cancellation; Not a great headset for calls; Dorky design
I used these headphones for a week before deciding on another pair. Overall I liked these headphones but the sound quality was not quite up to par with what I was looking for. Voice Call Problems I ride my bike often and was hoping to use ...

Is it a camera? Is it a phone?

by vipuser , Feb 05 '05
Pros: 1.3 mega pixel, FM radio, mp3 player, GREAT reception, sturdy exterior, swivel design
Cons: No firmware updates YET!!! Exterior are not interchangeable, 128mb max for external storage
The S700i is a special phone in itself. People always ponder whether this phone is a digital camera or a cell phone. There is a different between “a phone w/ a camera” and “a phone and a camera” and the S700i is a prime example of this. ...

I bought a Sony Cyber Shot W55 for a year now and i really love it. I had many problems with my Cannons, switched to Sony and couldn't be happier. It is stylish in its metal ultra-compact body, and features 7.2MP resolution on a 1/2.5-in. image sensor, ...

The best system I have ever tried

by nubian01 , Dec 15 '07
Pros: Receive and transmit quality, battery life, wind resistance, syncing, comfort, and quality
Cons: Price, but get over it unless you want a junk one for $30.
I love having the little thing in my ear. Jabra has hit a homerun with this one. I was skeptical when I bought it thinking I would be returning it after a few hours of use. First, I did not buy off on the 3rd generation ear securing device that it cam ...

EXCELLENT PHONE
by ritdhola ,Feb 11 '05
Pros: One of the best 1.3 Mega Pixel phones out there, Large screen. Excellent Pictures
Cons: Little to big, Bit On the bulky side, Over Priced, (but not to much)
I have had this S700i phone for just about over 2 months. it has an excellent zoom, and an even better picture quality even when taking pictures at its maximum zoom. most of all I think that the internet is one of its best features, but with every phone it does need some improvement. As I have got a 256 memory card installed in mine it both great for Mp3s and pictures. There are also various programs available to compress the music that you put on to the phone. It also has a play now feature which allows me to play music before I download it

NOT WORTH THE MONEY, I OWN ONE MYSELF
by coke338 ,Dec 06 '04
Pros: good pictures compares to most phones on market other than M900, looks good
Cons: too big, too heavy, memory is TOO SMALL. minor bluetooth problems, doesn't worth the money.
I've own this phone for more than a month. Other than the better camera functions and quality, it's pure crap. the chtml is more crap to you if you don't know what that is or doesn't have internet service with your phone plan. You can download files from pc and use handfree with the bluetooth but can't received files from other phones like k700i, try it with your friends if you own one. calms to have good picture quality and it's okay, but 128mb is just how many pictures you can take with your phone. If you want to use it as a mp3 player than FORGET it, 128mb is the lowest memory standard for any mp3 player on the market, and you have to share the 128mb memory with all the pictures and videos and games. unless you're gonna listen to half a album over and over, it's no walkman. I'm trading it to a M900 which supports up to 1gb memory for around the same price. Tons of regrets for buying this phone.
