Pros: Doesn't skip, easy to use, does cds as well as mp3s Cons: sound AVLS no longer works right. Attachment & ear buds stoped working.
Loved the Sony D NF 340 for 3 months. It didn't skip as I walked along listening to my books on CD's. Then the little round sound clicker stoped working. No problem can adjust sound from the unit itself. Then the AVLS went out.(that has to do with the sound level). Problem was this limited me to raising the sound to the levels needed to hear the CDs as I walked along public areas. Also couldn't listen in bed with just one earbud anymore. (So much for laying on my side to listen before falling asleep). Just not enough sound now. I tried to get Sony to fix it, but they wanted 2/3 of the price of the unit to send me a refurbished one. And who can say how long that one will last?
