Sony Net MD Walkman MZ-N505 Personal MiniDisc Player

I've tried it all flash, hard drive, etc.. I finally settled on this puppy for the following reasons:

1) Small, inexpensive media
2) Killer battery life
3) Real One makes file transfers easy
4) Cost of unit and cost to operate...

I bought my Sony Net MD Walkman MZ-N505 Personal Mini Disk Player about 5 years ago and have nothing but high regard for this unit. I love the fact that it is tiny enough to fit into a pocket or purse & yet with Sony speakers I can bring out the best of sounds.

I used this unit originally when I led the music portion of my church's worship service by recording mini disks each Sunday with the desired music when we had no pianist. I simply purchased an adapter unit to connect to the sound system of the church.

I also have used this with background music when I have done solos. Currently, I use it for Christmas music that I have on 7 mini disks. Unlike MP3 players that have to be erased before you can load anything more all you need are new disks to add to your music collection and you lose nothing.

Pros: The size is nice
Cons: Overall SONY quality has taken a nose dive across the board

I'm currently deployed to the Middle East and I've gone through TWO SOny MD players and 1 set of headphones. Listening to music is the only thing that helps pass the months away from home. Nothing frustrates me more than having that taken away from me. Both Minidisc players failed me. Dust is not an issue where I work so I can't imagine why they would fail. One unit was brand new, right out of the box. Both units failed ot read any disc. Since all of my music was recorded on MD format, I have no alternative but to order more of these lemons. It's either that or no music to pass the time. Ordering a replacement MD player takes one month to get to me. I will never purchase a SONY product again and will disuade anyone I can to follow suit.

I love this machine. Greatest money I ever spent. Being able to have 5 hours of tunes in the palm of my hand and having another 25 hours in my pocket rules.

I heard the advertisement on the radio that said it could hold up to eight hours of music on one disk. I went out and purchased it and was thrilled to finally have something that works for my needs. The battery lasts for 56 hours on playback and that means you don't have to change batteries every five minutes. The disks are re-writable up to a million times and they really hold a lot of files. I tried the apple mp3 player and hated it because the battery life couldn't compare. So I returned it and kept my mini disk player and couldn't be happier. It's made really well too. I've dropped it a few times and it still works. It's easy to use the music management software that comes with the device and it transfers music pretty quickly too.

This MD product has great looks, sound, battery life, and more. I bought it at Best Buy and when I took it home I opened it and I was amazed at the size and the look. It was great! After I installed the software, I loaded all my CDs and MP3s to one disc and I loved it. The BASS IS AWSOME AS WELL!!! I recommend you get this MD if you want a MD.

Please please help me,I have a Sony mini disc recorder and we have lost the software disc somehow,can anyone helps us,can we download it from the internet,or if some one has one could they send us a copy,it would been a great help.We moved house and some were along the line its gone missing,so please please help.

I love the fact that with the right accessories you can record your old cassette tapes to MiniDisc as well as rip CDs whether its straight from another player or the computer.

A wonderful inention given to the music world by sony. Perfect for begineers, intermidiate and experienced mp3 and mini disk users. At an affordable price i strongly recomend this sony walkman.
