Pros: LOOOOOOOOOONG battery life!
Good sound quality.
Price.
Small.
Light. Cons: SonicStage.
Tiny slick plastic side buttons/sliders.
Display is only one line.
No armband included!
Okay, so let's get this out of the way - it's not a Shuffle killer. The media has a way of overdramatizing things. However, I do like it more than the Shuffle, and I think it will compete quite nicely with Apple's flash player. I suppose I'll sprinkle ...
Pros: Very light, battery lasts a long time Cons: Not plug and play, only plays Sony-exclusive Atrac format
I believe I am going to stop buying Sony products, and the main reason is this Sony Walkman Circ MP3 Player NW-E107. I will grant you that the player has great features which I will expand upon later. O

Pros: Small, Cheap, Cons: Bad Software, Bad on/off design
The Sony Walkman, Sony over the past 2 decades have been about the best product to purchase, from the first tape player walkman I purchased to the CD players, now to the MP3 players. As a long standing tradition, you almost always have to purchase ...
Pros: Small, Cute, Inexpensive for what you get Cons: Software's a hassle to use, no device for carrying it, not very hardy.
The Sony Network Walkman works well and gives you 1 gigabyte of storage for a very decent price. It's small enough for you to carry anywhere, but strangely it doesn't come with any means to carry it. No case that straps onto your body or necklace ...
Pros: price, battery life, ease of use, does what it's supposed to. Cons: sonicstage is shaky and awkward,no time and track display, lack of full EQ.
first off this is a minimal mp3 player, well you can call it that, but what it really does is converts the files to the sonicstage format if you so desire or you can leave it as .mp3 extension. however when you convert the files to sonicstage .omg format ...
Pros: long battery life. Good brand and sound quality. Good price Cons: No belt clip or case. Plasticky and limited display.
I wanted a player for jogging and exercise. A quality one which sounded good and wouldn't break for no apparent reason when it passes the one year guarantee. I went round several shops and was told to buy a Sony. The staff said they had the least amount ...
Pros: Size, weight, atrac3plus, sound, battery life, mp3 envy Cons: Sonic Stage could be better
As of writing this I have only had my sony for a few days. Audio quality is good and its small size and weight are just great. I bike to work everyday so it starts in my pack then I just hang it around my neck once I'm there. Oh yea, they don't ...
Pros: Disposable battery, really tiny, sound is 8/10, good amount of memory, and inexpensive Cons: Stock earbuds suck on anything. Battery lasts 10-15 hours, not the 70 they claim.
I bought mine at Wal-Mart for $149. After seeing mine, a friend bought one just like it. We both are pretty happy with it. The Sony SonicStage software is only OK (I've heard some people hate it). It does stink that you can't just throw a MP3 on ...
Pros: Light weight, minimal size, easily accessed controls, earphone cords well-designed, transfer fast. Cons: Software and downloading process cumbersome and frustrating.
I am admittedly no techno-pro, but I've had a number of mp3 players...which, unfortunately, this really isn't (ATRAC is Sony proprietary format apparently). With my Samsung (loved it), Lyra (worked fine, not an RCA fan), and even a weird, cheap ...
Pros: Long battery life for a puny AAA battery. Mini Screen with backlight. Cons: The included software "Sonic Stage", plasticky design, small buttons on back,
Yeah everyone has those overpriced ipod shuffles , in my opinion, and honestly im getting sick of it. I didnt want to be like everyone else so I decided to purchase something different. The Sony nw-e107 caught my eyes as soon I walked into the ...
Excellent Player, Appalling Software by seani ,Jun 24 '05
Pros: Small, light, great battery life, good sound Cons: SonicStage 3.0 is appalling
A fantastic player let down by the SonicStage3 (SS3). The latest is the best apparently; God help anyone who had previous versions, it's virtually unusable.
* On a 1.2+ GHz Duron / 1Gb RAM, significant delays navigating and choosing songs. Transfers seem to happen quickly; refreshing the interface is sluggish, becoming unresponsive to mouse clicks, but with no busy indicator.
* You can transcode from MP3/WMA to ATRAC3 if you want to use it's native format (although there'll be a quality reduction). It also transfers and plays MP3s "natively". You can also rip from the original CD to ATRAC3. There is no way to rip from OGG or FLAC directly, either with SS3 or through 3rd party apps. such as dbPowerAmp. This limits anyone maintaining their library in FLAC (me :()
I'm sticking with the player for a while ,loading it up with 1Gb of MP3s for the gym and sticking it on shuffle. This limits my exposure to SS3 for a good long while.
If you like to change your music more frequently, you may find SS3 more of a show-stopper than I did.
Also note that it's difficult to get hold of the armband in the UK.
A Great Simple MP3 Player by kastmaster ,Nov 29 '05
Pros: simple controls, VERY LONG LASTING BATTERY USE Cons: no armband, SonicStage confusing
I got this MP3 player last week and I haven't left home without it since!!
I bought this product after looking at several MP3 players including the highly expensive iPod line. Sony's NW-E107 offered simple control in a small, extremely portable unit.
I did not want a large capacity drive, since I do not have as many songs, and I was very satisfied with the 1GB drive (about 290 MP3/ 695 ATRAC3)
It's got simple play/pause, and tracking controls. The battery life is simply amazing.
I was not happy in the interface of the SonicStage, Sony's packaged program for organizing, playing and transferring your music to your player.
This is a must have for listeners with a limited library looking for a no nonsense MP3 player.
Pros: Cute Cons: Poor quality control and construction
Cute little gadget but within a few weeks one of the channels stopped working. Also bought a set of earphones to go along with it and they broke in two the first day. $150+ down the drain. Spend your money elsewhere.
Could've been incredible, mediocre instead by slicketyslack ,Dec 28 '05
Pros: Great sound quality, stylish compact design, insane battery life. Cons: Crippled by copy protection and poorly thought out user interface.
Although you can transfer MP3 files to the unit using SonicStage or the alternative drag-n-drop software provided by Sony, the software will convert it to a non-mp3 format (either ATRAC or OMA) expressly for the purpose of preventing piracy. HOWEVER, you can also use the unit as a USB drive, and just copy the raw files over and distribute them that way (but the unit won't play the raw files). Thusly, the protection is ineffective and unnecessary. Also, the fast-forward function only moves at 3x playing speed, no matter how long the button is depressed. This means that if I have an hour long file (and I do have many - dj mixes or standup comedy or spoken word), and I want to get to the middle of it, I have to hold the button down for 10 minutes. Unacceptable. Xmas gift regretfully returned.
Only Idiots Buy Apple Ipods. by lexusgs25 ,Jun 17 '05
Pros: Battery life, AWESOME BASS, Very light and small, LCD backlight, somewhat large storage. Cons: The buttons are hard to push because they are small. No armband. Plastic.
If sound quality is your major concern for mp3 players, look no further. I have over 300 hundred songs and the player is only half full. I sometimes convert them to Atrac3plus and I rarely notice a difference compared to mp3. This thing has AMAZING bass and treble. If you listen to alot of R&B/hiphop/Rap this ideal because you can feel the deep bass. I cranked up my sony G52 headphones ($20) and no matter how high the volume is, the bass does not go "cracked" unlike my friends' Ipods. They all regret their decision but what can you do when you lose $300 on an ipod? Well actually.... they can sell it for this baby.
