Pros: Best LCD screen available on the market. Sturdy and well made. Cons: Poor 'thumb-wheel' implementation.
I own the sony GRX laptop, and am an avid power user. Im sure if your reading this review, your already aware of most of the laptops specifications, so I won't bore you with those. Instead i'll talk about how the laptop fares in real world use.

Purchased my GRX580 about a month ago. Paid $1575 S/H. Got my $200 rebate.
There's nothing about this notebook that I don't REALLY LIKE!

Be careful with this one
by cardoc1001 ,Nov 26 '04
Pros: Nice display Cons: everything else BUT the display
It is a shame that Sony has lowered themselves to make "throw-away" products like this one. The 16" XGA display is the only nice thing about this notebook. You will find if you do enough searching that these have major motherboard failures. The motherboard is not close to being affordable and hard to find even if you did want to spend more than the notebook cost new to repair it. I also am amazed that given the monster case size of the notebook they couldn't fit in a diskette drive. The case on the laptop is cheaply made, the top cover is easily scratched, I do not recommend this product. Look for a GR series (very reliable) if you want this size Sony notebook. Or look for a Sony 505 thin notebook if you don't mind using the dock for your drives.
