Thanks to the excitement generated in 2007 by Amazon.com’s Kindle, eReaders are quickly becoming mainstream. The Sony PRS-505 (505), which actually pre-dates the original Kindle, shows how unfamiliar the product category was to the general public ...

This was a lovely birthday present this week! Despite many "mediocre" reviews on various websites, I have been quite pleased with my new Blue Sony Reader. I felt compelled to submit my $0.02 because I wanted to clear up one main thing that many people, ...
Pros: Long battery, ePaper display, extra storage, small portable size. Cons: No backlight, not all .pdf files readable.

Pros: Uhhhhh......it looked like a cool thing. Cons: Everything about it, especially the repair and refund policy if you have Sony engrave it.
I thought this would be a neat thing to have. I own several other Sony products and love them. My first mistake was to buy one of these. The second was to opt for the personal engraving that Sony offers. Problem is, after 3 hours on the phone with tech support (not to mention the 8 on my own) I find out that the Reader is defective. Worse off, since I opted for engraving, I am not able to return it! This stinks! What happened to the great company Sony used to be? Now I have to send the reader off to get repaired if it can be. If not, I just blew $300 on a paper weight. Terrible customer service from Sony. I just want my money back. Save yourself a ton of grief, buy paper books. God help you if you get it engraved and get sent a lemon what happened to me. This is NOT like an Ipod. Sony Reader has many problems to work out...
