Pros: BluRay player, good game console (graphics), interface, account management, Wi-Fi, sixaxis controller Cons: No PS2 compatibility, most games are still 720p (1080p is rare), no force feedback
One year after the release of the first version of Sony's delayed "Wunderwaffe" -- that was supposed to settle console wars once and for all -- the price cut and updated functionality finally allowed for one of those to land under my 2007 Christmas tree. ...
Pros: A Blu Ray Player that supports DTS HD Master Audio! and Plays GAMES! Cons: The 40 Gig flavor isn't backwards compatible. Using PS3 controller as DVD remote is awkward

I never considered myself a gamer, yet somehow I ended up trying all three of the current generation consoles. I absolutely hated the Wii, loved the 360, and now still experimenting with the PS3. I sold the Wii pretty much a week after I got it - ...
Pros: Technology packed game console also acts as a media center, great details, great graphics! Cons: Software updates required to run many games, installation times.

Pros: Graphics and gameplay rock! WI-FI and Bluetooth Technology! Blueray Disc Player! Cons: Expensive, and you need an advanced home theater system to fully enjoy.
The Playstation 3 is indeed the most advanced video game system currently on the market, but it may not meet your needs as well as some of the other platforms currently for sale. The Playstation 3 features full 1080P capable graphics, and the ...
Pros: Blu-Ray, Blu-Ray, Blu-Ray... and a growing library of games. Free online gaming. Cons: Less impressive game inventory than competitors, some streaming hiccups, less impressive online aspect.
Sony's shiny new living room center piece, the PS3. Is it worth the price of admission?Little relevant background of myself (you may have already read from my Wii review): Born in the early 80s, I've been a gamer for over 20 years. My ...

Great value and upgrades are free by vrod2003 ,Mar 16 '09
Pros: Awesome quality, only way to watch action flicks. Cons: Configuration can be challenging. Not for the technically deficient.
Key benefit to this device for BluRay vs standard players is the upgradability. I have had numerous software updates since I purchased the unit more than a year ago. All of the BluRay discs play beautifully including all of the BD LIVE discs. The quality of the playback is awesome. The only downside is that while I purchased the separate Bluetooth remote which originally worked beautifully, once I hooked up a soundbar with subwoofer surround sound system, the remote no longer works and the integration with other equipment has become a bit more complicated. However, in the end, despite the usage challenges, the quality is supreme, especially when played back on my Sony XBR Bravia 1080P LCD.
Amazing, Better Then the Wii... by syonverma ,Jul 30 '08
Pros: Awesome features and cool games. Cons: Nothing really bad about it...
The Playstation 3 is the greatest invention right behind the PC and Electric Lamp. The Playstation 3 has all the games and every thing that you need. The Playstation 3 has all the really cool games, like, Rainbow Six Vegas 2 and Call of Duty 4 and the upcoming Resistance 2, which should be the world. Resistance was also pretty good and don't forget Oblivion!.
The Playstation 3's really cool with the music and Blue-Ray. I love the idea of being allowed to play music on your Playstation 3. The Blue-Ray isn't half bad either, but I don't use it that much.
It wasn't that hard to get it started, but when getting a new game it takes about 10 minutes of downloading before you get to play it, but it's OK, I live with it, because there isn't a lot of games that I need to buy, but you know what I mean.
The PS3 is really good, so buy it if you have enough money!!!
