  • Good product with some flaws

Pros: Long battery life, easy to operate, reliable.
Cons: Weak motor for tape, WeatherBand seems useless.

Summary: I've been using this Walkman for about 4 months now. As you can see from the image, the electronic buttons operating the radio are on the front while the tape buttons are on the side. You have to be careful with the front electronic buttons. ... read more

    Pros: Durable! Versatile. Inexpensive!
Cons: Need to update with CD, MP3, etc. to keep up with current technology.

Summary: It's Durable and Cheap: I use my Sony Cassette/TV/Radio/Weather band Player every day for almost 8 years with absolute neglect -- never cleaned the tape player head, dropped it a couple of times, neglected to clean the accumulated dust -- but it ... read more

Pros: Low cost, digital tuner, TV and Weather bands, lots of tuner presets.
Cons: Tape play-back is nearly useless for music.

Summary: I bought this Walkman to listen to 'books on tape' and some music. I still have a reasonable collection of higher quality (Metal and Chromium-Dioxide) tapes made from CDs. The fault that makes this tape player such an awful (read useless) product is ... read more

Pros: The cost was perfect. The sound is great.
Cons: I lost the headphones for earbuds real quick, just too bulky.

Summary: I just wanted something simple to make my commute less mundane. This was the solution. It is high quality that I expect from SONY and the sound that the Walkman line always delivers. The controls are simple, but sometimes too easily ... read more

Pros: The tape player is excellent. With the earphone output I was able to rip MP3s..
Cons: Case has to be removed to change cassettes

Summary: I found this device quite pleasing. The tape did not slow down until the batteries were almost dead. Ripping MP3's were quite easy with stereo separation well maintained. we just connected it to the line input of the computer. There was no hum ... read more

    Jan 11, 2002
Pros: Nice sound, decent headphones, AM/FM/TV Weather radio
    Cons: None

Summary: It's been a long time since I had a tape walkman, but I started listening to audio books on tape and wanted something to use when I wasn't in the car. This one does the job with absolutely no complaints. The headphones are better than any ... read more
