Pros: Very comfortable and designed to last Cons: None if you don't mind the height
You know it is time for a new mattress when you find yourself sitting on the couch watching television until you are literally too tired to see because you don’t look forward to going to bed. We had reached that stage in our lives. The bed we had was...
Pros: Very comfortable at first Cons: Comfort doesn't last and mattress wears out quickly
I did quite a lot of research and testing of mattresses in my area and found the Spring Air to be by far the most comfortable and best buy for the money. Unfortunately, within a couple of years it had huge (we are talking three inch deep) body...
Pros: NONE WHATSOEVER Mattress sags, back aches, sleepless nights Cons: Mattress does not stand up. Not like store sample
We purchased another brand mattress we really liked. We didn't keep it as it developed a musty smell within two days after it arrived. The store did replace it three times, but all had the same smell so our money was refunded. We were among many who ...
Pros: Absolutely perfect balance of firmness and comfort while new Cons: Sags in middle after only a few years
I am a thorough shopper. I do my research. I read my Consumer Reports. Everyone said don't scrimp on a mattress -- you spend 1/3 of your life in it. I tested out dozens of mattresses. I was thoroughly convinced that the Spring Air 4 Seasons was the most...
Pros: Very comfortable, 2 different sides, fat and plush. Cons: Shows body impressions in pillowtop, but they seem to be superficial.
Please see update at bottom of review!!I used to sleep on a fabulous mattress - the Crown Jewel, non-pillow top. What a great mattress, very supportive. When we bought our new house we also bought a king size bed and the crown jewel went into the ...
Pros: Very comfortable, pillowtop Cons: Because of the pillowtop it could be very high, some may not like that but we don't find it a problem
My husband and I were sleeping on a Somma Bed that sunk. It was horrible. Finally, we went to buy a bed and from the moment we laid on this mattress it was great. We bought a king size because we tend to have a family bed and our family sure does enjoy...
Pros: This is an attractive bed with average comfort level. It is relatively inexpesive. Cons: Durability is terrible. The warranty process is a nightmare.
We purchased this bed from JCPenney's in January of 2000. We felt that it looked nice and was comfortable. It was moderately firm with a pillowtop. The pillowtop isn't as plush as pillowtop mattresses from reputable brands such as Sealy and Stearns &...
My husband and I had slept in a water bed for over 12 years. His back hurt him, as did mine, so we decided to get a regular bed, but with a nice firm mattress. Since we had had a king size water bed, we decided to stay with that size since it gave us...
I thought that it was about time for a new mattress. Two sleeping on a full is hell. Too make matters worse it was a lumpy old mattress. So we went and bought the mattress of our dreams, The Spring Air. We opted for a queen size that was the top of...
I took delivery of this mattress on 1/5/03 and they came and picked it up on 2/11/03. The mattress felt very comfortable for a couple of weeks, but than started to develop an indentation in the middle. By the time I turned it back in there was a very...
Pros: Great comfort and support in the beginning Cons: Won't last more than two years.
At first, I thought I had found the perfect mattress. It was soft and cushy, yet offered very good support. Two years later, my wife and I would sink six to eight inches into the mattress. We finally broke down and called store we bought it from. They...
Pros: Mattresses extremely firm, holds up well. Cons: Mattresses too firm causes body stress.
This mattress is very firm, to the point that it does not give. I like firm mattresses and med to firm, I have always had firm mattress but this goes beyond saying. This is not what I call a back supporter, because it breaks down your back and leaves...
Pros: Spring Air is good for two years if your lucky, after that back aches. Cons: I will never buy a Spring Air mattress again.
Short & sweet. We bought a Pillow top Spring Air top of line twin size mattresses. After three years they developed a three inch body impression. Not good for only three years. We notified the Spring Air people. After three weeks a Rep. arrived at my ...
Pros: None Cons: It wears out in a year and you hate yourself for buying it.
When I tried out this mattress in the showroom, I found it to be exceedingly comfortable. In comparison with other mattresses I felt, it was the clear winner. Wanting to make my $725 investment last as long as possible, I rotated it religiously...
This is the worst mattress I have ever slept on, I can turn it everyday and it makes no difference. I have been trying for 3 months to get a rep out here for the warranty and they are not calling me back. I would not tell anyone to buy this mattress or...
My big mistake came when I decided to replace our old mattress with a brand new one. My back had been hurting and I thought it could be our bed. So my husband and I went to a furniture store and laid on every mattress in the store. The most...
Pros: Still looking for some. Cons: Too numerous to list.
My wife purchased a pillowtop "Spring Air Four Seasons mattress" that was recommended by the independent furniture store employee. We found it wonderful for about three months. It was at this time that we experienced our first problem. ...
Four Seasons Bed is a Pleasure by enasty ,Feb 27 '06
Pros: Soft top yet very supportive, sleeps well Cons: More than I wanted to spend on a king without a pillowtop
Bought the four seasons spring air bed named the Brimfield in earlier this year. I got the firm model because the salesman suggested going with a firmer mattress for more back support. The coil spring system is the individually wrapped and the top although firm is still soft enough for me and my wife. We paid around $1400 for a king and the salesman guaranteed that if there were any body impressions of any kind within the 10yr warranty of the mattress that the mattress will be replaced. So far so good, couldnt be happier
This thing is horrible. by springaircrap ,Feb 23 '07
Pros: I can't think of a single on. Cons: Wears out quickly, poor customer service, BASICALLY EVERYTHING
We bought this bed just under 3 years ago and it is DONE. The entire middle of the bed is caving in. It use to help to flip it but now that isn't even helping. The warranty process is a joke to. They won't replace the bed they want you to send it in so they can rebuild it, what are you suppose to do when they have your bed. OH BUT WAIT THERE IS A LITTLE JUICE STAIN FROM MY KIDS SO THE WARRANTY IS COMPLETELY VOID!!!! I will never buy another Spring Air and have been, and will forever, tell people not to buy one.
I don't remember when we bought this mattress exactly, but I'm guessing it was close to four years ago. We loved the compromise of a firm mattress with a pillow top. We enjoyed this mattress for quite a while.
I save all of our warrantees and receipts, but I can't find this one. Too bad because it would be going back! After strictly following rules on flipping and turning this mattress, there are some serious gullies in it!!
Spring Air Four Seasons Back Supporter by pigjubby ,Apr 01 '04
Pros: It was firm and nice when it was new. Cons: It did not hold up and broke down its support very fast.
I've had it for 11 years. I work as a fireman in Los Angeles, so 1/3 of my sleeping life is at work. No, it's not because we sleep away the day, we work 24-hour shifts.
So, you could say that in actuality, I've been sleeping on this bed for only seven years.
It has dips and sags in all four areas where I sleep.
It started to sag on me about two years ago. Not enough to get a new one.
Customer service? When you can get through. And that's usually a recording telling you that the company is closed.
I got a deal from the company. That was the main reason I bought it. I didn't find anything great about this mattress. It's a California King, so it weighs a ton, but I'm told most of them did in 1993.
I don't think I'll be buying a Spring Air very soon.
Pros: Firm comfortable, yet soft top, and full support mattress. Excellent buy! Cons: Fairly tall, and somewhat heavy to move or flip to change seasons.
Super mattress after five years of use. I'm pretty big at over 6'2" and 250 pounds, so my wife and I purchased a King size mattress. This unit has held up very well after years of wear and tear and it still looks and sleeps like new. I've read many comments that are less than flattering, but the bed we have is the best bed I've ever owned. I used to be a Sealy Posturepedic guy, but the Four Seasons mattress looked and felt fantastic in the showroom. And it doesn't hurt that it was a lot cheaper than a similar sized Posturepedic. We could always expect at least 10 years of use with our Sealy mattresses, and it's looking like we'll get at least that with our Four Seasons bed. Perhaps they just need a bit better quality control at the factory. I'm sorry some of you seem to have received lemons, but thank goodness ours is a diamond! Now if you'll excuse me... another great night's sleep awaits!
Back Supporter??? Are you kidding me!! by lquan ,May 18 '04
Pros: Feels good for 2 years. Cons: Must be replaced after 3 years. No back support, at all.
We bought this mattress a week before my 4 year old was born. I thought I was sleeping on a cloud, it was wonderful. Then, after two years the sagging started. It has absolutely, no back support what so ever. It actually, gives you back pain. Needless to say I am shopping for a new mattress tomorrow. I have done my research and I will never buy "Pillow-top" again.
Pros: It is extremely comfortable, which can be deceiving Cons: It has very little longevity, good if you want a comfortable mattress for a year.
This mattress is extremely comfortable at first, but that doesn't last at all. I have had this mattress for 5 1/2 years and I am now shopping for a new mattress.
It starts out extremely comfortable and after about 2-3 years is starts to develop a body marks. It is not normal wear and tear. Now on it's fifth year it have two concaved marks, if you lay across the bed width wise you can feel where the bed is not concaved and where it caves in, the springs are definitely going. My husband and I are not large people that might create a little more wear and tear a little earlier. This mattress is definitely not worth the money, I am extremely sorry I purchased it.
Four Seasons with Latex by lovesmonkeys ,Aug 15 '07
Pros: Latex, I think is a plus. Cons: Haven't found any yet.
No matter how you lay on it, It feels great!
I love the Four Seasons with the Latex in it!
This is the best feeling mattress I tried.
I can't find anything wrong with it. It's perfect!
My husband and I purchased a Four Seasons Cal King Mattress in February of 2007 for $2700. Today our new mattress looks and feels just like the one we replaced it, lumpy and uncomfortable. I new we should have purchased a Sealy mattress just like the one we had before, it took 12 years before it became uncomfortable and only cost $900, back in the day. Now eight months later our new mattress has impressions where my husband and I sleep with a huge hump in the middle. We have tried putting heavy tumblers in the middle to flatten the hump down, but that doesn't help. If we try to roll to the middle we roll right back into the spots where our body impressions are.
Waste of valuable money and health by cthtexas ,Sep 11 '05
Pros: seems comfortable at first, attractive price Cons: wasted money, breaks down quick, sags, no rest
Ditto on the other negatives voices by others. Bought ours just over 4 years ago because it seemed comfortable. Well shortly after buying it, my back begin to hurt and my wife began to get pressure point pain. We both toss and turn continously and you can feel every little movement on this pillow top. We have attempted to send it back but of course they don't back up their warranty - and I have the receipt. The dept store sent out a person who said it "wasn't sagging" enough...this thing wore out the first year we had it.
Now we are looking for another mattress within 5 years and would have gotten one sooner except don't have the money.
Pros: Comfortable for one year Cons: Lumpy, valleys on both sides and hump in the middle after one year.
We purchased this mattress in June, 2000 and enjoyed its comfort for one year. After only one year, the valleys on either side of the bed became evident, and this inspite of our turning it once each season, thus four turns a year. My husband and I are experiencing unusual back pain and I am experiencing profound neck pain, all attributed to this mattress. I do not recommend this mattress or company to any consumer. The customer service individual was defensive and unwilling to hear constructive criticism as I was calling not for money reimbursement, but just to report the design flaw in their mattress.
Pros: Firm but flexible comfort Cons: No real problems of note
Ours is doing well after over 5 years - Queen size, no noticable wear or sagging. We also traded from a softsided waterbed, well used after 10 years which was causing back problems. We bought the spring air combo including matching box spring. I suspect we flip and rotate it 4 times/year. It is holding up very well and I hope it gives us another 5-10 years of use.
Pros: Comfortable and great warranty. Cons: Uncomfortable and bad warranty.
Bought this mattress for the comfort and the warranty.
4 years latter and it sags in the middle, bad. Spring Air sent a rep to validate the warranty claim, but we have to pay for the shipping to the factory for repair. $330.00 for the round trip was unacceptable to me. I'm still waiting for the warranty supervisor to call back.

Crater in the middle for sure!! by judysteve ,Aug 25 '04
Pros: This mattress does start out very comfortable. I do like the handles on the sides. Cons: Tag says "this side Fall and Winter" and "this side Summer and Spring" - WRONG!!
We've had our mattress for 2 yrs. Within the 1st year it started sagging in the middle. It is so uncomfortable that we have to place pillows between us to FILL the HOLE!! Talk about a romantic nights sleep!!
We end up with back aches by morning, especially if there are no pillows between us. I end up sleeping sideways sometimes just so I don't fall in the hole. This mattress is definitely not worth the money. We thought maybe because the mattress is so big with 2 box springs under the mattress was the reason for the sagging. I guess that was a bad guess. We've tried flipping the mattress more than the "this side for Fall and Winter" and "this side for Spirng and Summer". That was no help! I wouldn't recommend this mattress to anyone.
Don't be fooled thinking they are a new company! by tammys1963 ,Oct 16 '09
Pros: NONE! Cons: Everything
I spent $1700.00 for mine, what a rip off. Felt great in store. My Husband wanted to take it back right away, I thought he just wasn't ajusting to new mattress. It is 18 months old and we are in miserey. We bought ours in late 2007. I just finished putting plywood strips under boxsprings and between boxsprings and mattress. From past reviews its pointless to try to have company do anything about it.
