I bought the HTC Touch Pro on release day in November.  I love the look and feel of the phone as well as its features.  If only they worked.  I am on my fourth replacement and I can not get Sprint to just give me a functional phone.  ...

Cons: You have to use the "Sprint Only" setting to keep from roaming.

I have only used Sprint service in Memphis, TN, so I cannot make a comparison to other providers, but Sprint has worked reasonably well for me in the city. I get great reception around the I-240 loop. Reception in Midtown is acceptable, but not great. In Downtown and Midtown, I find it necessary to use the "Sprint Only" mode on my phone to avoid roaming (settings -> roaming -> set mode) I have found that without the "Sprint Only" setting, the service will switch to an off-network tower with a better signal, even though a Sprint tower is still available. Sprint charges a very high per-minute fee for roaming on the basic plan.
