Pros: Simple, easy to use. Reasonably priced. Cons: Only available in the Quatro size.
I was a regular at our local Starbucks, and often thought they should rename their “triple shot Grande brave latte with sugar-free vanilla syrup” after me! A couple of years ago my husband and I decided to move our ...

Pros: Greatlooking, easy to fill, easy to clean, no hot plate, auto shut off, 2YrGuarantee Cons: need to prewarm carafe, weak hinge design, slow pourer
This is the all stainless cousin of the plastic/stainless 4 Cup, the uncle. We were cashing in a stack of Starbuck's gift cards and decided to put them towards an excellent coffee maker rather than use them a cup at a time in the store. Hubby and I both ...

4 cups of leaked Coffee
by sprayday ,Nov 02 '06
Pros: Looks nice Cons: Caraf hole is too small for the in-flow of water, spills all over.
Bought this to replace my 8 cup starbucks coffee maker that shorted out after about 4 years.
As long as everything brews smothly it works well, and produces a nice cup of joe. However, every third or fourth brew , it seems to spill all over the counter. The small hole for the craf cannot keep up with the large flow of coffee. And after reading some of the other reviews for this maker, it looks like it is a common problem. Stay away from this maker if you want to keep your countertops clean.
Also the first one I bought just broke on the second day. Took it back to get another, and now i'm stuck with an almost daily mess all over the counter. Don't buy this maker!!!!

Best Coffee Maker Out of All!
by dawngar77 ,Feb 13 '06
Pros: Best Tasting, full flavored coffe-Tested against Bunn, Cuisinart-Thermal Carafe, automatic shut off Cons: None- I can't get over the great taste!!
I picked up my coffeemaker at a Goodwill as a fluke.. I knew very little about Starbucks, other than they were supposed to be a great place to get coffee... Anyway, I saw this coffeemaker and it looked brand new, so I thought I would go for it because of the name, it being a 4 cupper, and it had the thermal carafe. The first couple of times it overflowed-then I thought now I know why someone got rid of this- it doesn't work right... I figured out that I had to let the lid unscrew some so it would fit tightly in the machine in order for it to make contact properly, and the coffe could be released into the carafe. I am telling you I have not tasted better coffee in my life! No gizmos, nothing fancy just a simple little coffeemaker that takes about 5 min. for a full pot.. I have put this up against 2 Bunns, a Cuisinart grind and brew, a Cuisinart Brew Central, etc... Nothing has even compared..

*Update* Feb 2006*When it's bad, it's very, very bad...
by cergeg ,Oct 21 '05
Pros: Brews great coffee. Carafe maintains temperature. Cons: Leaks terribly when brewed coffee drains into the carafe.
*update* power switch WILL break.
We've had our Barista coffeemaker for over a year. When it brews correctly, I don't believe you could find a better cup of coffee. But, so many times we find ourselves mopping up a leaky mess because it doesn't drain correctly into the carafe. We've tried different courseness of grinds, but can't determine that that's the problem. It brews quickly and IF it drains properly into the carafe, everything's great. The carafe maintains the coffee temperature for a decent amount of time & pours easily. But if half of what you've brewed winds up on the counter, the end doesn't justify the means. Hopefully Barista will correct this flaw, so we can enjoy ALL the coffee.
*Update*: I had bought two of these coffee makers and both are now broke! Same problem with the second one. The power on switch broke on the inside. ( they use a thin plactic coupler and a real mickey mouse spring assembly to turn on the heater. It also has developed the "Starbucks leak".
