Pros: Firm, good quality, less motion than other beds, name stays same at different stores Cons: Price
I had this bed delivered on April 29th. So I have had it in use for about a month. Prior to this, I was using a generic brand mattress with a wooden foundation. After 5 years in use that one had crapped out on me, so it was time for something new. ...

Pros: Sterns and Foster Manhattan Elite: A softer bed for my weight, Cons: Mattress is very heavy, requires special sheets. Memory foam makes for difficult movement.
How can you tell whether a mattress is going to fit your needs while laying on one for a short time in the store! Be sure you read every word of their contract agreement. The first bed I purchased was a Sealy and was hard as a rock, salesman said it ...

Fort Washington and the Orton Queen Size
by barnykleemen ,Jan 15 '07
Pros: The dealer did honor the warranty on the first mattress. Cons: Uncomfortable, poor design, a waste of good money.
After one month of use this mattress was returned to the store of purchase (without problem)due to deep body impressions of 1 3/4" both sides. I am 5'5'' 155lbs and my wife is 5'6" 145 lbs. The store owner apologized and we were informed that the problem was because the bedding top was not pulled tight when sewn at the factory.
We then spent another $300.00 ( for a total of $1699)and "upgraded" to the Stearns and Foster Orton. After four months of use the impressions are 1 1/4" deep and the mattress is very uncomfortable. Since the impressions are not 1 1/2" deep we have no recourse to go back to the Stearns and Foster dealer.
Bottom line on our Stearns and Foster experience is that the foam does not hold up and the coil count is low allowing you to sink into the bed. You will be told the coil are of a heavier guage but keep in mind the spacing is greater between the coils which permits the sagging.

A lot of money for horrible service
by ivanterry ,Apr 29 '05
Pros: none Cons: Please read..
at the Mattress Firm due to their reputation as the best. Within 2 weeks, my wife and I noticed an indention in the mattress. I went to the store and they convinced (coerced) me into buying a stiffer frame, which did not eleviate the problem. I called the warranty department and they took 2 weeks to visit and made notes of a small stain. I told them that the problem was with the indention and they refused to replace it. I have spoken to Stearns & Foster directly and they were very unprofessional and rude; not willing to help in any way. I called the Mattress Firm's corporate HQ and they refused to do anything as well... BEWARE!

A lot of money, very painful, no customer service.
by marcanselmo ,Aug 21 '07
Pros: None Cons: very uncomfortable and impossible to sleep in.
Paid a lot for this bed and expected it to hold up, however, almost immediately we began to sink into the bed. My wife and I are less than 150 lbs, but, when we get up in the morning we have sunk in the middle of the bed. The perimeter of this bed (Manhattan Elite) is made to be stiff, so the front/back, and sides stay up, and the middle sags.
