Not Horribly Effective

by pyallen , Oct 17 '00
Pros: Didn't hurt his acne
Cons: Didn't help the acne either
Stridex (where do they get these names? Sounds like a foot thing.)doesn't seem to work as good as the commercials would lead you to believe. My son went through a pretty severe bout with acne when he hit 16, and Stridex was the first thing we tried.

Mid-day renewal

by lil_pyro , Oct 19 '02
Pros: Easy to use.
Cons: Stings face and bad formulation.
Packaging
These pads are kept in little packages like a wet napkin. They are small enough to be kept in pockets and purses. They were easy to use just rip, wipe and throw. There are one tiny sheet inside the individual packages. I love...

Good and Bad Stuff

by rsh101 , Nov 14 '00
Pros: does make your face feel clean
Cons: burns my skin and scratches too much
Like many other people I have had huge problem with oily skin on my nose and cheeks and pimples and black heads in that same area. I've always and will always try anything that promises to control pimples and clear up some of the oil. So when I saw the...

IF YOU HAVE DRY, SENSITIVE SKIN, TOSS THIS OUT!

by calwaone Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Jan 09 '01
Pros: EASY TO USE AND TO TOSS.....SO TOSS, FIRST!
Cons: LEFT SKIN RED, SWOLLEN, IRRITATED!
Stri-Dex Medicated Pads - Regular Strength was tried by my son during his acne ridden teen age years with yukky results. First, he already had dry skin, that was not his problem! The medicated pads seemed to rob his skin of any natural oils he DID have...

NOT for people with sensitive/dry skin [Updated 8.22.01]

by mattyd5 , Feb 27 '01
Pros: Dries out the pimple.
Cons: Leaves your skin horribly dry and red.
I bought this product simply out of curiosity. After seeing numerous advertisements for it, I decided to put it to the test.

One perspective to look at this is to say that these pads do in fact dry out and ultimately kill the acne. However,...

Children's Acne

by pinkice , Aug 26 '00
Pros: It works
Cons: Nothing
Yes,my daughter at times has little breakouts on her face which she is very uncomfortable with. With all that is on the market,I felt that most of the formulas are too strong for her delicate face.

I went to Publix and there I found those...

Stri-suks

by mmtshark , Feb 04 '02
Pros: Looks like it takes dirt off your skin.
Cons: Doesn't do a darn thing.
Stridex - heavily advertised on TV, you'd think that it would be wise to stock up while they're still there. You've probably seen the alcohol free commercial. There is a kid who has a pad in his hand. He screams for ten seconds until finally it...

They have convenient packs for on the go!

by jopurich , Dec 14 '00
Pros: easy, convenient
Cons: a little expensive
Stridex now has medicated pads for on the go, each individually sealed. This is not the actual product listed but I didn't see it anywhere but its the same thing, only packaged in like a towelette ready for use out of home, which is great especially when...

Stridex, not a cure but it prevents
by wingsofheaven ,Apr 01 '04
Pros: Prevents acne very well
Cons: dries out face, causes slight redness
As a teenager myself I have tried many things on my acne. Stridex is a great product. While it does not cure acne it helps a great amount to prevent it. Its dries out the pimples and has medication in order to help from getting acne. However you can not use stridex alone. Wash your face twice a day in addition and you will be virtually free of acne. One other problem i encountered was it really dries out your face so a good daily moisteriser is in need along with this product. But overall I believe that it is very effective.
