Pros: Can be used as an expensive sunscreen. Cons: Doesn't work.
I updated my review of Mederma 2 years ago and my 4 star rating stood. So why since I liked it did I try Sudden Change Scar Zone Topical Scar Diminishing Cream? Like many products after awhile I like to change and ...
I had a raised red cat scratch on my face, going from nose to upper lip. It was not healing well and the bump was only getting worse. I bought and started using Scar Zone and within 2 weeks, the bump, redness and scar were completely healed...you can not even see a tiny mark now, it's perfect....this is after 3 weeks of it only getting worse, after the scratch.
Pros: -works on stretch marks too!
-it doesn't really have a smell Cons: -you have to use it 2 to 3 times a day
I picked this up at the drug store mainly for acne scars that i have had for 3 years or so and it was bothering me. I didn't really read the package before i picked it up. I just saw "works on acne scars.." and decided to give it a try. I tried everything else so I figured why not. It also works on stretch marks, surgical scars and injury scars. The stretch marks were horrible on my back and stomach and within 3 days use it started to fade
Pros: Cream is easy to massage in and easily absorbed. Instant results for long, surgical scars Cons: None.
I think it depends on the type of scar you have.
I had the opposite experience with Mederma. I prefer ScarZone.
The thick white cream is easily massaged in and I noticed results immediately. I'm not sure if they are permanent results. I mean, once the cream "wears off" are the scars still diminished? Either way it works well as a cover-up.
Mederma is wet and slimy. You have to wait for it to dry. Where my scars are, I want a product I can rub in and then get dressed without having to wait for it to dry.
I have used tubes and tubes of Mederma with no effect. I just started the ScarZone and noticed immediate results.
My surgical scars are long and lateral. Massaging the ScarZone cream into them twice a day is no big deal and I really like the instant results. Perhaps for smaller rounder scars it may not appear to work as well. Not sure.
Pros: Good on new scars Cons: Old scars not so much
I have tried using this on a scar on my face and within 2 weeks it was barely noticeable. I also tried using it on old scars. I've noticed it getting lighter and smoother, but I don't know whether it will go away like new scars. I'm going to see how it works out. Otherwise, I highly recommend it for new scars. I definitely saw it go away.
Absolutely does NOT work. by cynicalabout ,Jul 24 '05
Pros: I suppose it can work as sunscreen. Cons: Absolutely positively does nothing to diminish your scars.
I bought this product with some hopes that it would actually work, since it has silicone in it, which I've heard is beneficial against scars.
Well, I should have read the "Use" section of the box....
And I quote, "Helps prevent sunburn and scar damage from the sun - temporarily protects chapped or cracked skin"
To put it simply, this product is sunscreen. Who knows what the SPF is, because it opts to mislead you about how it reduces your scars. It does nothing of the sort.
I am very angry that companies make products like this that do absolutely nothing for people who really need it.
I believe the Better Business Bureau should know about this company and their misleading advertising.
Pros: minimizes/fades scars very quickly, also acts as a protectant, sun screen, and moisturizer, reasonably priced Cons: none so far
I really love this product. I started using the topical cream about 3 weeks ago and I experienced results in a short period of time. My scars have diminished and faded very quickly. I thought nothing was going to work since I had used some other products that had no effect on the appearance of my scars. Summer is coming up and I have been afraid that I will have some embarrassing scars showing. I've only been using this for 3-4 weeks and I am going to buy more when I run out. I would definitely recommend this product to a friend.
I am shocked. I have been using this product for 5 days on a flat very red scar that was about 3 inches on my knee that I have had for about 8 months. Its now less than an inch. I have used some very expensive products that did noting. I am very pleased.
Pros: Works very well for surgical scars and fair skin. Cons: I really don't have any cons about this product.
I recently had a skin cancer removed from my face which left a 1 1/2 inch scar across my cheek. I saw Scar Zone at the drugstore one day and decided to try it. I was hoping for some results, but not really expecting too much. I tried it that night and the next morning I could already tell the difference. The scar was raised and by the next morning it seemed to be flatter. I have only used it for about 4 days now, but it just keeps getting better everyday. I have very fair skin and every mark shows on my face. This stuff is amazing and I would recommend it.
