Pros: They fit extremely wide openings. Cons: Damaged the walls, hard to open and close.
When my husband and I moved into our new house that we had just built, we didn’t think about what problem we were going to soon come across with our son just learning how to walk and crawl. We were able to install child safety gates at the bottom and ...

Pros: Attractive, functional Cons: A bit pricey, latch is annoying to close
After a long hard search, my husband and I finally found a gate that will stretch across our 10 foot wide Great Room, with lots of room to spare. This gate is a nice looking mesh screened gate with a sturdy metal frame. It's in a neutral beige color ...

Pros: sturdy
easy installation
easy use of the door
flexible configuration Cons: a little pricy, but worth the investment.
I purchased this gate with fingers crossed - it was a hundred bucks at Target, but the only gate that would fit the wide opening between the kitchen and den. It attaches to the hardware easily and can be detached for company or in the evenings (although ...

Playpen
by peboru ,May 01 '08
Pros: Safe enclosure for the kids, easily expands/ contracts to accommodate different spaces, reasonably priced Cons: None so far.
We have twins so we needed a safe place to put the kids so we purchased this gate and created a playpen. We like it because its a soft fabric mesh that the kids can fall against without getting injured and it easily expands to accommodate different widths. We had a problem with the latch mechanism because the floor was not level. I basically put a spacer under one of the sections and that fixed the problem. We have had this setup for over six months now and we can't live without it.

New Model Cheap Quality, Do Not Buy!
by trickthat ,Dec 28 '09
Pros: I no longer have any pros Cons: Inferior quality compared to old model-dangerous
If you buy this product, make sure the model number does not have an a at the end(07160A). We have three of the old model, but this new model is cheap. The parts and bars are all smaller in diameter and bend and rattle and shake. They no longer fit with the old models. We are returning the 2 that we bought and looking for something else. I will never buy from this greedy company, Summer, again. Once again greed is overpowering the safety of our children. If you can manage to get the model without the a, the are the best product available on the market, but this new product is scarry. Even the mesh on the screens is cheaper and full of imperfections. Buyer Beware this bate and switch.
