We needed a spa that would help my wife with here aches and pains. We looked at hot springs and sundance. Our spa would be sitting on our lanai about 20 feet from our bedroom. We purchased the Capri and after 3 months of use we have this to review:...

Pros: Seat location, jets Cons: Poor warranty coverage using fine print to avoid correcting a obvious controls problem
I "inherited" a Sundance Capri Hot Tub when I purchased a new home. From the paperwork left by the previous owners, the tub was a 2002 installed in February 2003. I started it up in September 2005, and within a few weeks, the unit would not hold ...
Pros: Perfect size, excellent delivery of air for massage. Cons: missing jets for calves tremendously.
Purchased this sweet little tub end of September 03. Best thing we ever did for ourselves. Set up on our patio right outside living room and master bedroom and noise doesn't bother us. Love the lounge and therapy seats. Since I'm a small fry wish they ...

CAUTION: Sundance delivers USED spas and tells you they're NEW! by lssmith ,Aug 27 '04
Pros: Some good features and sized right to fit in a small space. Cons: Horrible service, they delivered a used spa instead of the new spa that was ordered.
I purchased a Sundance Capri spa that was supposedly brand-new and factory-tested and received instead a used or floor model spa that had had parts removed for use in other spas and was totally non-functional. I paid full as-new price for this spa, and the local retailer lied to me continually regarding the reasons why this spa was delivered non-functional, saying that they must have made a mistake in factory testing when he knew that this was a used spa from the start. It was missing a transformer, the jets weren't properly seated and thus didn't work and it had a huge leak. All this took them over 2 months to correct after several appointments they did not show up for. The Sundance spas appear to have some of the best features, but their service has got to be some of the worst. Imagine paying for a new car and receiving instead one that had been totaled and rebuilt - that's the spa that I got!!!!
Great Spa for those who are "Vertically Challenged" by petiteone ,Jun 28 '04
Pros: Maximum therapy that can be gained with a three seat tub. Cons: Pumps are noisy when on full force. Hard to carry on conversations.
I wanted a small spa that could both deliver optimum massage and feel comfortable for my size. As I am petite, I found that getting in and out of most hot tubs and sitting in them was challenging until someone recommended the Capri. The ease in which I can now sit and relax and enjoy the benefit that the spa has given to my body and spirit is something I truly love.
Nice Jet Layout Poor Performance by eddybilt ,Apr 13 '06
Pros: When it works it's really nice. Comfortable seats for 2 adults. Cons: It appears to be dependable for the first year or 2.Filters Expensive. Fragile electronics.
I purchased and installed my Capri in 2002. The first year it worked fine. Then the problems started. I went to jump into the spa and noticed Flo indicated on the control panel I also noticed that the water temp was down to 84. I called the manufacturer they came out and in 10 min replaced a flow indicator switch. 3 years later and about 4 new replaced switches I've kinda gotten fed up with the constant service calls. The response has been good within 2 days. The problem is my warranty has expired. I wonder if it's worth fixing every 8 or so months. All in all the tub is built for comfort not for reliability. But it's electronics are too complicated. It's a Hot Tub not a frigging Mission Command Center. "Keep it simple" was not used in the design and maintainence of this unit.
Spa not suitable for cold climates by hbgguy ,Feb 06 '07
Pros: Very good action from all the jets Cons: Not suitable for cold climates.
We have a new 2006 Capri and are pleased with the spa and its great jets. However, if there is any kind of short power outage (generally less than 1 second) or surge the spa immediately goes into "Watchdog" mode and loses all power. A simple flickering of the lights by the power company is all it takes. If the owner is not home they will return to a damaged hottub if it is below freezing. Without power the water lines and pumps will freeze-up in cold weather which can cause significant damage. We do not think this spa (or other Sundance spa with the same function) is suitable for any area where temperatures drop below freezing.
