Pros: Cost, picture, inputs, features. Cons: Audio, no built in HD tuner, little things
Most people reading this review right now are probably thinking that the prices they've seen for this TV are just too good to be true. A 26 inch HD ready TV... and it won't put a dent in your pocket? Must be a catch, right? Well, in my few months with ...
Pros: Price, picture quality, ease of use Cons: No swivel base
Picked this one up on Black Friday for $500 after rebates. My goal was to combine a TV and PC monitor into one. I was able to save so much room by getting rid of my old 19" TV, 19" monitor, DVD player, 2 speakers and all the wiring that goes along. ...
Pros: A great little tv for the price! Cons: Blue screen on powering on.
I bought this on sale ($499 after rebate)after seeing other reviews. The fact that it was a second/third tier brand was my main concern. I have to say that after a month, I'm pretty impressed by it. I use it in the bedroom so I also didn't want to ...
Pros: Very low price
Excellent sound
Great interface options Cons: Low contrast ratio
Lack of multiple visual setup memories
I bought this unit for about $440 not expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised! I intended to use it just for viewing standard DVD's unconverted to 720p. In this application, the set performs very well. Standard TV/cable TV looks OK, but the low ...
Other reviews list specifications & other trivia, so I'll get right down to the brass tacks. I bought my Olevia 26" TV about a year ago. I was so happy over the price. It was a day-after-thanksgiving special at $350. Then I got it home and out of ...
Pros: Great price.
Very good picture and sound is fine.
Nice looking cabinet design. Cons: Small opening at bottom when base removed for mounting
I got the LT26HVX for $499 after rebates at CompUSA. I hadn't heard of Olevia or Syntax before so I was skeptical of quality. But, I read opinions on-line and saw the TV in the store and was impressed with the quality. It's really a nice set and a great value. Similar size/quality TVs from Sony are over $1000.
Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a mid-size LCD TV. I have it in our exercise room but it would be fine for a family or living room.
Syntax LT26HVX 26" LCD TV $699 less $200 rebate by yardman198 ,Dec 03 '05
Pros: SOUND,Picture overall looks,Inputs.(lack of HD tuner makes it ALOT cheaper) Cons: None that I can see so far.
This TV rocks I bought it part of a after thanksgiving day sale so I saved another $200 on a mail in rebate, anyway.. I did hook it up to a HDTV tuner and the picture is great. I used a passive antenna and I receive all the channels I can as I'm sorta far from my local stations. Overall the Sound on this is tops.. It has TWO EQ's and the sound fields sound really good. The tv has all the inputs you will need from VGA for PC's and DVI for the top of the line tuners. I use a old HD Direct TV tuner and use it as a tuner only as I dont have Direct Tv. I bought the unit used on Ebay for $40 so for under $700 its still a great deal.
Overall this TV is great as a bedroom set, thats where I have mine. The next purchase will have to be a larger screen for my living room. I only wish I can get the same great deal I have now with this 26in set.
Pros: Super picture, nice features, good looking unit. Cons: So-so remote, but not bad.
I bought around a month ago at BJ's, when they had two rebates going, and gave it plenty of use to date. So far, so good. A great looking unit, super picture and sound's fine (I don't blast at 100 db!). We bought for a bedroom unit, but like much better than our tubed 32".
A more advanced remote would have been nice, as the placement of channel and volume selection buttons is tight, and right under the power button. Otherwise, no complaints.
Pros: Great picture, great sound, great price. Cons: Ubiquitous blue LED on the ON button.
Poor tech support from Syntax.
Bought the unit for $499 (with a $200 rebate). This is a great TV for the money, has all the features (except for HD tuner) with a great picture and sound. I replaced a 22 year 20" TV for the bedroom.
DVD picture even with standard inputs is fabulous.
On button on unit has a blue LED that could light up an entire room in the dark. While it's nice to be able to see the on button in the dark (I suppose) this on is really powerful. There is no way to turn off this feature so I have to place a small piece of masking tape over the LED to soften the effect.
I tried calling Syntax but there is no customer service to answer the phone. I still have an email to their support group.
I purchased a 4 year warranty from Compusa for $79 in case there are problems with an off-brand TV. So far I am not impressed with the customer service.
Pros: Price & Specs Cons: Non-exsistent customer service, units are made like garbage.
This is the worst piece of garbage I have ever run across.
While the pricing and the specs are great, the TV has no quality control what so ever.
I purchased the unit from Compusa on 1/1/06.
Yesterday, after bringing back 4 units, I gave up and got a refund.
The first unit had a bad speaker, the second had a terrible LCD leakage problem, the third looked great for 15 mins, then blew out, and the fourth lasted about 7 hours before the screen died.
I bought a Panasonic for more money, but I just couldn't keep bringing these units back.
If you do decide to buy one, MAKE SURE you buy an extended warranty...your going to need it!
Pros: fryer is alright Cons: T-fal cons consumers, doesn't follow through on rebates
I sent in all of the materials requested for the rebate for the T-fal fryer. Yet, the rebate processing center sent me a postcard telling me they did not receive the UPC code (which is a lie). I e-mailed T-fal. T-fal told me to mail in the original UPC code. Obviously, I couldn't do this, because I already sent it to them! I used to work in retail, so I knew enough to make copies of everything I submitted. I'm sure I will get the rebate after complaining to the New Jersey Attorney General's office.
I will never buy a T-fal product again, rebate or no rebate.
