Pros: Refreshing, long lasting, soothing, superior to others Cons: More expensive than most lubricating drops (but worth it)
I have been going crazy lately. To clarify, my eyes have been driving me crazy. I spend long hours on the computer each day, have severe allergies and have been popping Benadryl every four hours to keep them at bay, and have neglected to wear the glasses ...

Pros: relieves symptoms of dry, itchy, burning eyes Cons: just a bit pricey
It wasnt too long ago that during a visit to my ophthalmolgist, I mentioned how at times, I felt is though I was looking through a gauze pad. It wasnt so much that my eyes gave me blurred vision, but more of a hazy vision. I told him that ...

Pros: Very soothing to the eyes, clears eyes within 5 minutes, improves clarity of vision! Cons: A bit expensive, but it's worth it considering its effectiveness.
My Experience I've been suffering from severe dry eyes since the last 4 months now. I work as a Senior Application Systems Analyst. So, working long hours in front of the computer monitor is an unavoidable part of my job, which undoubtedly ...

excellent long lasting drops, good for sensitive eyes
by wardgn ,Feb 12 '06
Pros: long lasting, great before contact lenses, especially silicone hydrogels, preservative free version avail Cons: expensive
I recently switched to Night and Day contact lenses partially because my eyes are somewhat dry. I found that my regular favorite, Refresh Tears, did not seem to work as well with the silicon hydrogel lenses. Since my eyes are too sensitive for ANY multipurpose solution, or even frequent (daily) use of Clerz Plus drops, my optometrist gave me a sample of these. If you put a drop in each eye a few minutes before putting in your contacts lenses, they will not feel like they need wetting solution! I was really surprised how well they worked, and I can go through the morning without rewetting my eyes. Supposedly the HP Guar ingredient, although listed as inactive, really improves the longevity of the polyethylene glycol 400 and propylene glycol. You can go to the www.systane.com website to read about how these drops work.
While I do not know if they will harm your contact lenses, they definitely work better if you remove your contacts before hand, or use them before insertion
Although I am afraid of anything preserved, so far I have had no problem with the polyquad. A preservative free version is available, however.

Watch the preservative!
by ellensu ,Sep 22 '07
Pros: I now use the preservative-free vials with no problem. Cons: Systane with the preservative made my tearducts all puffy over a short period of time.
My doctor recommended these drops for me and gave me some samples. It works pretty well for me but please see the problem with the one with preservative.

Systane Drops
by yabb ,Dec 24 '06
Pros: none Cons: very expensive and not effective for me
My doc recommended systane drops in addition to refresh tears and an oral med for meibomitis and dry eye.
My doc decreased my oral med dosage and added systane to my daily intake. I am feeling much worse since starting on systane.
This is NOT working for me. I am much better with just refresh tears PF.

I can not agree
by mumsherms ,Jun 03 '08
Pros: I can not see any pros here. Cons: humans should not use anything like propylene glycol
The systane drops are touted as preservative free. One of the main ingredients is Propylene Glycol.
Most people do not know what this ingredient is. It is used in anti freeze and is a main ingredient in the deicer used on airplane wings in the winter.
I know this because I am highly allergic to it and it is in many products from many eye drops to foods such as salad dressing and even in some vitamins, It is used as a stablizer and preservative it helps hold moisture.
Why on earth would we put this stuff in our eyes
