skips a lot just walking...
by joann_dt3000 ,Jan 15 '03
skips a lot just walking down the street. it had to be totally still to play well. Mine would heat up and turn off after about 45 minutes, so sure- in theory it may have played for 10 hr on the batteries, but only in Antarctica! After aboutn 8 months the motor burned out and it just whirrs without playing.

i have had this player...
by coolio986_dt3000 ,Feb 19 '03
i have had this player for about 6 months, i use it at work in an industrial environment, i work in a factory. I am able to play cds that i have made in windows xp just fine, it all depends on the program that is used. If the xp default program is used that may not work, use a good programs called nero or better roxio easy cd creator. I bought this play for 120 dollars at the time and i have been happy with it ever since, never had any quality problems or "clicks" every 25 seconds. it all depends on the quality of the media being used and the burning that media. CD-RW's WILL WORK just fine. the player takes a little longer time to load them initially but once its loaded its solid. GOOD PRODUCT, GOOD BUY, WOULD RECOMMEND TO OTHERS!!!

Extremely disappointed with the player...
by jerrytc_dt3000 ,Dec 13 '02
Extremely disappointed with the player sound quality, headphones, customer support and worst of all, it doesn't play MP3 CDs burned on Windows XP.
You'll know if you have the MP3 problem when Mojo skips every 25 seconds of a track. Hence, 25 seconds into a song, you'll hear an audible click. Every 25 seconds later, you'll hear the same click. It gets very annoying and I don't use the player anymore.
With regards to the MP3 issue, if you check their web site, they admit as much. It suggest that you use a 3rd party software to burn the CDs and not use XP's Windows Media Player to burn it. I used Easy CD Creator's software (which is one of the most popular burning apps) to create my MP3 CDs and it still doesn't work. I also had an older MP3 CD burned on Windows NT which also does not play on Mojo.
I e-mailed TDK twice about the problems but each time, I got the same auto-reply answer which offered no help.
