t’blades—I’ll never sharpen my skates again and I like it!

by puckmugger Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 50, Jan 28 '06
Pros: If I may borrow from Bauer, these really are Stronger, Lighter and Faster
Cons: Take some getting used to, proprietary tools
How I got my t’blades A little over a year ago I received a pair of Salming F1 skates complete with t’blades from Salming to review. My first thought was that I would give them a couple of weeks, review them and put them on the shelf for ...

T-Blade Or Not To T-Blade, That Is The Question

by manroot , Feb 10 '06
Pros: The lightest, coolest looking holder currently on the market.
Cons: Never getting aggravated over a bad sharpening again, wait; is that a con?
PREFACE I bought my T-blades last June (June, 2005) on a pair of Graf Supra 735’s which I reviewed here on epinions, so if you’ve read that review this one may be a bit redundant, but for those of you that are looking into buying just ...

T-Blades a referee's best friend

by bluescityref , Jun 27 '07
Pros: The glide is much better than traditional steel
Cons: Having to guess which hollow to order since they are extremely sharp
I've skated a season in the t-Blade system on a modified set of CCM Pro Tacks and I can honestly say that I love them. The pair of skates I am using needed the rocker changed to my liking so I went ahead and took the gamble on getting the t-blade system ...

A different kind of blade

by deadzone , May 04 '06
Pros: Light, consistent sharpening, better glide.
Cons: Ugly, limited hollows, takes some getting used to
I have to admit. The first time I saw somebody wearing the T-blades, I thought they were ugly. They reminded me of some small animal's skeletal structure. However, if a skate could make me as good as Paul Coffey, I would wear one that was bright orange ...

T'blade; Well worth the price

by jcronq , Sep 12 '06
Pros: Faster, Cheaper in the long run, better edge, no bad sharpenings
Cons: original price
The t’blade; well worth the price The T'blade is made from a small amount of heavy, durable steel. The T’blade runner can accomplish this by instead of grinding the skate when the blade becomes dull, you replace the blade. This however does not have ...

T-blades saved my marriage...

by rjcress , Dec 18 '07
Pros: Convenience, consistency of blades, durability, light weight, performance. Best hockey purchase I've made.
Cons: The proprietary 3-pronged screw driver is annoying. I'll lose it and have to borrow one.
Well, maybe the T-blades didn't actually have any impact on my marriage, but I am thrilled with them, none the less. A year and a half ago I moved to a town with no ice. The closest rink is a 35 minute drive. The closest competent skate sharpener is ...

Replaced my Tuuk's with T-Blades

by hamstercaster , Jan 28 '06
Pros: Strong, light, stable and very sharp!!!
Cons: No cons for now anyways
Last weekend I broke the plastic that holds the blade on my left skate... don't know exactly when it happened, just found out after the game as I was whipping my skate blades to prevent rust and all. Now I was faced with a difficult decision. As the ...

Skated Like I Did 7 Years Ago!

by ferrari80120 , May 19 '08
Pros: Lightweight, fast in turns, fast on the straight
Cons: Initial cost
I remember when I first saw the T'Blade I was 17 and some hot shot on my team had them. I didn't remember much about them other than the fact that I couldn't really see the blade and that noise, not so really terrible, but not really great either. I'm 25 ...

last a long time
by dave99m ,May 26 '06
Pros: long lasting, sharp, good control
Cons: weird noise, lost the propriety tool once
I've had T-blades since 2002 when I had to replace my broken blade holder on my CCM 352s. I lived in Germany at the time, which is where T-blades are made. The pro shop offered to put them on to fix my situation. I've been very happy with them. One of the players on my team who also got them noted that they were so sharp when they're new that he couldn't stop on 1 foot. I noticed the same thing. The blades bite the ice really well. As I remember, you can not only select the running length of the blade (S,M,L), but you can also select how deeply cut the blade is between the edges.

I've played over 3 seasons (30+ games) on the T-blade system now. I think I've only replaced the blades once. The original blades I had on the CCM 352s only lasted 5 games between sharpenings.

My blade holders are a little nicked up from use, but they haven't broken. I did notice that occassionaly I need to tighten the nuts again or I'll hear a vibration noise that's a little annoying.

Blading terrible
by mboylan86 ,Oct 16 '06
Pros: it gave me something to give out about
Cons: it physically hurts to think about this piece of crap
I think this is the worst invention ever. In fact i think people should boycott the country where this product is made. not only do i think we should beat up the creator of such a crap product but also stop talking to his family, burn down his house and blow and then bury him in a very deep whole to stop him ever again inflicting such a load of crap on the human race.
