Pros: Ashlar's life story, Rice's usual elegant prose Cons: Mona Mayfair's story, very little back story to go on
Summary: Ashlar Templeton is a Taltos, the last of his kind. When he learns that Aaron Lightner, a high-ranking member of the Talamasca, has been murdered, Ash (as he’s called) sets off for England to seek revenge on those responsible. In London, he meets ... read more

Pros: Scary, thrilling, dark, and addicting Cons: NONE
Summary: If you want a book series that will not loose your interest, this is a great series to read. I love all of Anne Rice's Vampire books. They are dark, twisted, secretive, controlling, and very addicting. Once you start this series of books, you will not ... read more

Pros: Catches up on missing information from the first two novels. Cons: Drags out continuously.
Summary: Where do I begin. Well to start off, I was really disappointed with the final book of The Mayfair Witches. This book was dragged out continuously chapter after chapter. And a very disappointed ending, almost like Anne had just given up. There I'm done. ... read more

Pros: Awesome Continuation of the Storyline.
Intellectually Philosophical Areas arouse captulating continuous interest. Cons: Few new ideas and characters are unclear during the slow parts of the book.
Summary: I thought this book was very captivating and page-turning once you are envolved and deeply into the storyline and can endure the few slow sections. But It is all worth it for the series can't get any better. I loved all three chronicles of the Mayfair ... read more

Pros: A different way of looking at creation and man. Cons: The Talamasca leaving the villans in a dark pit to die.
Summary: Man has always been fascinated by the Creation
stories. Man has also wondered if we were the first people
on this planet. H.P. Lovecraft suggested their was a race

Pros: A lavishly written history rich in detail and beauty. Cons: It had to end.
Summary: Reunited, Michael copes with Rowan's infidelity and comatose trance, which lasts for weeks until their dear friend from the Talamasca is killed. The organization itself is brought into more detail, and here another character is introduced: Ashlar. ... read more

Pros: Beautiful descriptions; fitting end to
the series; wonderfully complex writing Cons: Takes too long to get off the ground; a
few slow sections
Summary: Anne Rice has just only recently become my all time favorite
author. I discovered this after plowing through her lenghty
supernatural tome "The Witching Hour". That was a lavishly
written, leasurly paced story, full of great characters ... read more

Pros: The occult topic is always mysterious Cons: Author always delves into pornography now
Summary: I have read a large portion of the Anne Rice novels. I was totally mesmerized with the Vampire serious. Forget Lestat or Louie - it was Armand that held my attention and drove my desire to finish the series – hoping he would mysteriously reappear ... read more

Pros: A rich, detailed history of what the Taltos were/are Cons: Teasings in the hint of other Taltos born to other Mayfair women, and the history of Fontevrault is never clear. This book lacked a pulse, really.
Summary: Whew - I can finally say that I've finished the Mayfair Series! And now I can move on to Merrick. With that said, let me quickly review this book, so I can file it away.
In the second book, we know that the Mayfairs are, over the centuries, ... read more

Pros: The first third is worth reading Cons: Everything else devolves
Summary: As young woman, I was entranced by Interview with the Vampire. I eagerly devoured every novel Anne Rice cranked out. Unfortunately, Taltos demonstrates how truly lazy she has become. The first 1/3 of the novel was enticing. Characters seemed alive ... read more

Pros: the descriptive and fantastical nature Cons: it's a series... one should probably read the others to get the whole feel--even though i did not
Summary: Beautiful images entranced me at once as the spellbinding words spilled onto the pages of Anne Rice's novel, Taltos. Being that I had never set eyes to Rice's works, I was unsure of what I would find. Half expecting a ridiculous realm of vampires and ... read more

Pros: Certain scenes (Motherhouse etc) Cons: Anne just seems to have given up and gone with the standard happy ending
Summary: I have to be one of the biggest Anne Rice fans in the world, I've read all her books (even the naughty ones) so this opinion is really off the wall for me but - this book was horrible. Parts of it showed the old Anne whitling away at history to suit her ... read more
