Pros: Perfect for the entry-level SLR shooter who isn't certain what lens to buy Cons: Soft at 200-250mm, that's about it

Pros: Crisp pictures, great telephoto and wide angle capabilities, great macro, little to no distortion, lightweight Cons: No image stabilizer, slow at long end, low light difficulties.
Summary: Overall I recently switched over from the kit lens to the Tamron for use with my Pentax K10D. This lens is a lightweight compact lens that has made some improvements on the existing 18-200mm lens by adding additional telephoto range. ... read more

Pros: Price, great range, replaced many lenses, 6 year warranty(canon is one), good image, ok bokey Cons: Images could be sharper, no IS but for this price I did not expect it.
Summary: My primary persuasion in purchasing this lens was to reduce the amount of lenses I have to lug around. Carrying a Canon 30D, Canon 17-40 L, Tamron mid zoom, and a Canon 70-200L f2.8is makes things very heavy and clumsy. Not too mention it just takes ... read more
