Pros: Tasty and refreshing, easy to find in almost any setting Cons: an acquired taste, sneaks up on you
Summary: I've turned into a bit of a light weight these days since moving back th the states but I STILL enjo ...

Pros: Lovely, complex taste and scent. Cons: Often pricey. Fools always want to mix it with Tonic or Soda
Summary: Gin I think one of the very first "hard" alcohols I ever imbibed was gin. It came out of a plastic bottle with a blue label, so is was probably something like Bartons or Gordons. It tasted not unlike an entire shot glass of warm cologne. I was ...

Pros: Strong taste, but mixes well. My favorite. Cons: None
Summary: I have tried many types of gin, from Seagrams to Bombay Sapphire, and this is my favorite. It has a very strong flavor, but rather than overpowering the drink, it makes the drink. It is the gin flavor that is strong, not the alcohol flavor, which is...

Pros: Perfect gin taste (to my palete anyawy) Cons: Booze this good should have a warning label
Summary: There's an old Mojo Nixon song called "Gin Guzzlin'Frenzy". Occasionally, in the summertime, I cue up ol Mojo and follow him into the frenzy. When I do, Tanqueray always accompanies me.
Gins are flavored with juniper berries and...

Pros: very smooth Cons: a little pricey
Summary: I am writing about Tanqueray 10 NOT Tanqueray Special Dry Gin.I love gin and pretty much always ordered regular Tanqueray or Bombay Saphire when I felt like splurging. That was until I had a gin and tonic made with Taqueray 10. It comes in a hexagonal...

Pros: can still be decent in right setting Cons: mixes poorly, the taste is unevenly spaced
Summary: Being A Gin afficianado mostly through the wide squath of mixed drinks I love that involve gin ( G and T's , Tom Collins's etc.) I will admit I do imbibe the old standby Tanq on more than a few occasions.
But while I qualifiedly recommend...

Pros: the bottle is pretty Cons: TOO much of the traditional "good" thing
Summary: If I had to choose one class of liquors that I most prefer, it would be gin. The gin and tonic is, in fact, the only drink I can produce in my home on request at any time. I have a bottle of Tangueray...but its purpose is more sinister.

Pros: not pine needle-y :) Cons: a little pricey (but worth it)
Summary: I am by no means an expert on Gin or any other type of drinking liquid. If you want an in depth look at the origins of gin etc., etc., you want the Epinion written by cmuir. He (she?) is a definite expert.
What I WILL say is this: the first time I...

Pros: great for those who want something with really strong flavor Cons: too strong for most
Summary: Tanqueray Special Dry Gin seems to be one of the most popular gins on the market. I see it advertised quite often in magazines. My parents, who have mastered the talent of deciphering between gin flavors much better than I have (they can taste a subtle...

Pros: Clean, smooth and wonderful Cons: Very pricey and habit forming.
Summary: I was given a bottle of Tanqueray Special Dry Gin. Being new to gin, I did what I usually do when I drink some single malt scotch. I poured some in a clean glass and drank it down. It was quite a surprise because I expected something harsh and bitter.

Pros: Flavorful Cons: Too assertive for mixing a martini
Summary: Caveat emptor: the piney flavor of Tanqueray makes for a pretty lousy martini. The assertive juniper flavor grabs you by the throat and just won't let go. A martini deserves a bit more subtlety. HOWEVER, Tanqueray's heavy botanical flavor makes for a

Pros: Piney, smooth taste (goes great with Schweppes tonic water) Cons: Too damn expensive because it's imported. but oh well.
Summary: The best gin and tonic is achieved through using Tanqueray and Schweppes Tonic Water, for sure(of course with a nice bit of lime as well). No substitutions should be accepted, or even allowed, for that matter. Tanqueray, for the quality, is not really
