$3100 Dollar Paper Weight
by sseensully ,Nov 11 '08
Pros: Big and looks good, excellent for a 10 minute nap. Cons: Can get stuck in mattress. Difficult to settle in after turning over.
We bought an Eastern King Deluxe bed a few weeks ago after a few friends swore by these things. We tried it out at the store for about ten minutes and it felt great! Bought it that day, had it delivered and attempted to sleep on it that night. Both of us slept like crap. We called the place we bought it from and they said you have to get used to it so give it a week and if it's the same then call them back. Well a week went by and still little to no sleep. Can't really explain what so uncomfortable about it but it is.
So called them back again and they said to put a heat blanket on the bed ten minutes before going to bed. Ridiculous.
Due to the fact that we live in a semi-remote town they will not take it back and we made of not inquiring about returns. Kinda figured they would follow the 2 month no questions asked policy the factory has. Not happy.
Would not suggest purchasing this bed unless you are absolutely certain you can return it if you do not like it.

Think twice
by earlduke ,Oct 19 '08
Pros: Initially comfortable Cons: Develops depressions under sleeping positions. Difficulty of movement. Expensive.
Have had the mattress for about four years. It was initially comfortable but after about two years it developed a body shaped depression under each sleeping position (it's a king size used by two people). The depression is now about 1/4 to 1/2 inch deep when no one is laying in the bed. (By the way, we are average sized people, both well under 200 pounds.) When it was new it was slightly more difficult to move or turn over than a traditional mattress. Now, with the depression, it is very difficult to turn over while sleeping and this leads to waking several times a night. I would say the bed now feels about the same as laying in wet cement. Also consider what this difficulty of movement means when using the bed for purposes other then sleeping! Yes, you know what I mean. We are going to change back to a traditional mattress. Don't make this expensive mistake.

Way too HOT, too soft- gave us horrible backand neck pain
by tempurpedic11 ,Sep 04 '08
Pros: You can't feel the person get out of bed. Cons: The HEAT- you can't escape it. Back and neck aches.
Not worth the money, as a matter of fact can't find any one to take it off our hands.
Great television commercial, and sitting on it briefly it feels different, but that difference quickly turns into insomnia.

CANNOT SLEEP ON IT AFTER 5 MONTHS!
by sadsleeper ,Apr 01 '08
Pros: Liked it the first 4 months. No other pros. Cons: Terrible body aches throughout the night. Become very hot now that weather is warming up.
Like many other people, I read all the positive reviews along with the few negative ones before making a purchase. But I ignored the negatives since there were so many more positives...figured those were the people you "could never make happy" or something. Well, that is not me (and I'm sure not them) so before spending thousands of dollars on something that could potentially not work for you, consider the negative reviews. For us, this was a very expensive mistake. We purchased the king, along with the pillows (which are also horrible - neck aches for both of us). Not sure why this bed works for some and not for others (Although I wonder how many of the positive feedback reviews are written when the bed is first received? I loved it initially). I'm 41 so perhaps age has something to do with it. But I don't have any back or other body (ache) issues. I sleep fine on my other bed which was 1/5th cost!

A Backbreaker- Don't buy it
by gewitester ,Dec 15 '08
Pros: Comfortable at lie down. Cons: Backbreaker, especially for men and women lacking big hips
I purchased a Tempurpedic "Classic Bed" last year hoping it would reduce pressure points that seemed to cause numbing/tingling in my hands. It was indeed affective in this regards, however, the trade off has been major back ache as the bed simply provide very little support. I suspect that women with big hips may well be aligned by the softness (as in their illustrations) but if you are straight-framed,and don't want your hip to sink much lower than their torso, the softness puts a lot of stress on lover back.
Thus, I have gone back to a traditional mattress. I do now have some numbness at night but at least my back feels much better.

Tempur Pedic Grand
by srhknndy ,Jan 18 '09
Pros: None, sorry. Cons: Too firm. Causes back problems when there were none. Hard to find sheets that fit.
I HATE THIS BED! We purchased the Grand a year ago and my lower back started to hurt a few months afterwards. I'm 34 and feel like an old woman every morning getting out of bed and all day long as the pain only mildly subsides. I have spoken to several people and 2 chiropractors (1 of whom returned the bed) who say they've heard nothing but bad reviews. Both my boyfriend and I are going to a chiropractor and I am patiently waiting for my 5 inch featherbed to arrive.

Worst mattress ever
by caoilhe ,Jan 18 '09
Pros: I have found absolutely nothing positive about this dreadful mattress. Cons: A return to the night sweats of menopause--every single night!
I slept on a waterbed for 39 years, had to give it up due to arthritic hands--couldn't make the bed any more--thought the Tempur-Pedic would be a perfect switch. HA! I wake up in the middle of the night covered in sweat (every night), my hips hurt every morning--this isn't a mattress, it's a torture instrument. Unfortunately, I bought it at a store that doesn't allow it to be returned, although you can return all other mattresses--I guess they've had so many returns on this one that they couldn't afford it any more. After buying this monstronsity, my husband and I stayed at a Hampton Inn on vacation--their matress was SO comfortable--if I weren't still paying for this horrid mattress, I'd definitely buy the Cloud Nine.

Best Mattress
by sejbradley ,Feb 15 '08
Pros: Best sleep and almost never a bad back. Cons: Fewer trips to the chiropractor. Poor guy has to make a living too.
We have tried all of the typical spring type mattresses, from hard to pillow top. Back pain, hip pain, people marks, etc., ensued. We only use Tempurpedics in our household now. For those that think it is too hard, try using a down throw or comforter. Talk about toasty!

selectfoam.com knock off tempurpedic
by babycatcher ,Jan 27 '09
Pros: None, that I can see Cons: Dishonest sales people.Dishonest ManagersDishonest advertising on the website. Never received the product, so can't comment.
I originally ordered a bed from this company, selectfoam.com They completely misrepresented themselves and their company. The website says they have been in business for over 40 years, but they have only been in business five years. Juan, the sales man, promised me tracking information and delivery within a ten day period. No tracking information was ever sent. I got very nervous about my $3,200 purchase, so I called the company and cancelled the order. Suddenly, they claimed it had already shipped and were going to charge me $600 for shipping. I never received the product, and STILL have not received a credit for my purchase. This is NOT a reputable company. Stay away.

Don't buy into the hype: these mattresses are horrid!
by stanhy ,Aug 28 '08
Pros: To be honest, there are absolutely none that I can find. Cons: Very uncomfortable, no support, hot, heavy, and very expensive!
I wish I had found this site before buying this thing! We paid dearly for a full sized Temperpedic mattress system with great expectations. At first, it was nice. But quickly, it started leaving both of us with severe back pain. It got so bad, I could barely get out of bed in the morning! There's no support under the lower back area. You just sag down and your back ends up bent all night. We gave this mattress to my brother, who also quickly began to have back issues. We are very dissappointed in the entire experience, and feel like we bought into the hype and advertising from Temperpedic.

Tempur-pedic - Not as comfy 2 years later
by rramak ,Dec 19 '07
Pros: was good when it was new Cons: Lost firmness ~1year; Expensive (Ikea offers better value); Warranty not good beyond the 90day trial
I bought the Classic mattress from Tempur Pedic along with the foundation a couple of years back for ~$1900 after a lot of pursuation from my wife.
When it was new we really loved it - the bed was firm and provided very good support whether one slept on the sides or on the back - a welcome change from the spring mattress.
For the past six months however, I have started noticing that the bed has become extremely soft and takes a while to recover its firmness making for a disturbing sleep. I am not sure what the warranty was on it but I wish I could return it or get a prorated payment back. :)
At the same time I bought this mattress I also bought a Sultan Forestadt mattress from IKEA for my guest bedroom for $300 including shipping to my home. This one has still maintained its firmness and I finally switched mattresses yesterday and have gotten my sleep back.
Conclusion: this product is just OVERRATED. Dont fall prey to all the marketing from Tempur Pedic - there are other equally good foam mattresses that you can get for a fraction of what they charge.

Nothing On The Face Of This Earth Compares To Tempr-Pedic
by gianluca ,Jul 30 '08
Pros: Never Slept Better Cons: None!!!!
If your thinking about it, DO IT!!!! The best investment you can make towards your health, attitude and every day life. I have tried everything thing out there, from Sterns & Foster to Duxiana and nothing does what Tempur does for my body. I have a friend that has one for 13 years now and it still looks NEW. Now my house is fully furnished with Tempur Pedic in all the Bedrooms, it is more of an investment that some of the conventional beds but, well worth every penny. Break down the price by 20 years and you'll see, you spend more in Starbucks coffee than the bed. Remember they offer a 90 day trial (What Company Does That) so if this product doesn't work for you, you have the option to return it for a refund. If you dont try it you will never know what a good nights rest is. God Bless

Rhapsody tempur-pedic sends us Reeling
by marksample ,Sep 12 '08
Pros: none as of yet Cons: haven't slept on it for the first four nights because of the horrible chemical odor.
After receiving our mattress, we have not been able to sleep on it yet because of the very strong odor. As soon as the delivery men left, we were almost overcome from the "chemical" smell that filled the room. I actually got sick the next day and have had a headache since. My wife had to wash the bedding all over again, including the comforter and pillows, as it reeked of the smell. It was by no means a "slight odor". We were never told during the sales pitch that the mattress would stink. It has been over four days, and the mattress has not been used yet. If we had known this smell might linger for three or four weeks, we never would have invested over $3,000 for the product.

Tempur-pedic Rhapsody - Uncomfortable
by highmore11 ,Dec 30 '07
Pros: some people find very comfortable (not me). Cons: very firm, especially in cool temperatures; bed sleeps overly warm; return shipment fee.
After researching various beds for 10 months, I purchased a Tempur-pedic Rhapsody (Queen). Despite 6 weeks of trying to get used to it, I find that I wake up multiple times a night and experience hip and back pain while on it. The mattress is very firm, especially if you keep your bedroom temperature around 60 degrees. Fortunately, I can return the bed during the 90 day trial period, minus a $175.00 return shipment fee. As other reviewers have noted, this bed is not for everyone.

not for me
by suzy07039 ,Feb 11 '08
Pros: does not transfer motion Cons: hard to get used to
expensive
makes my body hurt
After dealing with an old, sagging traditional innerspring mattress, my husband I decided to spurge and go for the Tempur-pedic. I liked the fact that it seemed to support every inch of my body. There were no springs poking me. And really liked that I could not tell when my husband moved around next to me. The salesman explained that it would take a few days to get used to the new mattress. Now a month and a half after purchase, I wish I could return it. My back hurts more that it did sleeping on my old mattress! I change positions frequently due to hip and lower back pain. And now I wake up with upper back and shoulder pain as well! We spent so much money on this mattress and I wake up every morning stiff and very sore. I should have done my due diligence and researched other mattresses (i.e. the sleep number bed) and not fallen for all the hype about this bed. Very disappointed and 4 grand in the hole.....
