don't buy a smelly bed
by lizzycatlee ,Oct 23 '08
Pros: can't think of anything positive in this experience Cons: smelly smelly smelly - not worth the money you spend for the mattress.
Recently bought Tempur-pedic Rhapsody queen mattress. thought the smell was from the plastic packing and decided to see if it would disipate in the coming days - it became worse. Smells like mold and neither furniture company or Tempurpedic would do anything to resolve this issue. Told me I would have to make a warranty claim on a product in my house less than 2 weeks and then send someone to tell me what they could do. Now the furniture company tells me Tempur-pedic charges restock fee and neither want to accept responsibility for defective materials. I don't think for the $2700 I spent that this is the type of product service they should display.

Not for everyone!
by bizzara1018 ,May 24 '08
Pros: soft, memory form is pretty cool compare to my spring mattress Cons: Neck and back pain, Traps heat
My sister got this Tempur-Pedic mattress, so i decided to take a nap on it this afternoon. About 2 hours of napping, i felt extremely hot so i wake up and feeling a sense of weakness all of my body (like when i have a flu!) I dragged myself off the bed feeling muscle sores from neck to my back, my lower back, arms all the way to my legs. I've been complaining about it ever since. I mean i can bear the heat, but not the pain! (i signed up Epinions to get my words out, because i still feel the pain from this afternoon!) Please use the trial period before you make the final decision to keep the mattress. It might not fit for everyone. However it is true that you would stay in one position during the night because the memory form sort of suck you in once you sleep on it.

sink hole X 2 = expensive mistake
by griznb ,Feb 23 '09
Pros: quite, it's nice to sink into at night, impressive price tag Cons: no support, body heat = no firmness, sinks, sags, lower-back pain
We're now on our second try. The first mattress sunk so low in the center that temper-pedic replaced it. The new one is now on its way to being completely soft and sunken in the middle. The edges are still nice and firm, but it gets harder and harder to sleep when both my wife and I are sucked into the middle of the mattress ditch. They say to expect some settling, but this sagging in the middle is ridiculous. I also have a lot of lower back pain each morning. I am sure it is the mattress, as I am still young and the pain only comes after sleeping on our temperpedic. I feel bad only rating this product at 1 star, because their warranty support was great and we had a new mattress in about 2-3 weeks without any hassle. Plus the delivery man was very straight forward with us and said that his company actually did lots of temperpedic exchanges, so its not just ours that sinks.
