Pros: Romantic, historic and steeped in atmosphere.  Convenient downtown location and easy parking.
Cons: Some rooms are smaller and the building is old, but that adds to the charm.

Summary: Romance and history come together at the Brown Palace in Downtown Denver. This lovely hotel is the perfect setting for a romantic weekend that will sweep you back in time to Denver's early days and was the setting for one of the most romantic anniversary ... read more

    Pros: LOCATION & SERVICE
    Cons: None

Summary: Sept. 2006. Stayed at this beautiful victorian hotel for 4 nights. I got a deal through Hotwire and only paid $120/night. The room was a very spacious corner room with luxurious sheets and top notch bathroom toiletries. All guests have access to ... read more

    Pros: Location, architecture are tops.
Cons: Can be hard to drive out of, due to traffic on Sunset.

Summary: Stayed here during the recent renovations, which meant I had a corner mini-suite for only $175 a night. OK, the carpet was worn, there were scratches in the wallpaper and the pillows were about a foot longer than the pillowcases. But the bathroom was ... read more

Pros: Gorgeous architecture and awesome location on Sunset Strip
    Cons: a tad noisey

Summary: What better place to stay in the heart of West Hollywood than the historic Argyle Hotel. This building houses Hollywood’s elite for many years back in the early days of film. Also stars such as Marilyn Monroe and John Wayne had apartments here. In ... read more

Pros: Lovely room with ornate crown molding. Excellent service from friendly, efficient staff.
Cons: Renovation noise during the day. Room carpet needed cleaning.

Summary: Just got back from a week at the Argyle. It is an art deco landmark that has been the location for a number of movies, including The Player. Currently under renovation, we got an incredible deal, probably due to the construction. It is very

  • Total customer (dis)satisfaction.

    Pros: Historic Art Deco
Cons: Terrible staff, zero customer service, noisy (right on the Strip)

Summary: I tried to book a weekend at the Argyle.... A major exercise in frustration. The advertised rates on their (outdated) website were nowhere to be found in their terrible third-party online reservations system. Not only did the room types and descriptions

    Pros: Location.
    Cons: Everything.

Summary: The service at The (historic) Argyle Hotel is historically awful. The worst, most snobby people behind the counters. The rooms are in serious need of repair, or at least a good cleaning and painting. For me a hotel room doesn't have to be fancy, but at
