Pros: Can't beat the stunning view of the Pacific Cons: Hit and miss entrees, uneven service
On Wednesday, June 14, 2000, temperatures reached upwards of 103° in San Francisco, tying the record for the warmest day in a city where the record book dates back to 1871. Yowee. We had only one thought: let’s go to the beach!

Pros: The view. I didn't have to pay....our guests did. Cons: Old tired food. Bad crab in wife's pasta dish. Rotisserie chicken leftover from another night.
After driving by the Beach Chalet hundreds of times, I decided it was time to make a visit. That was a mistake. My wife and I was hosting some of my relatives from Maryland and we needed to find a convenient place to meet for dinner in San Francisco....
Pros: House made beers, dining, WPA Depression Art in an historic San Francisco building. Cons: Food prepared in beer may not be your thing.
Imagine you have come to San Francisco with a number of visions in your head: Good Restaurants, Significant Art, History, A Beautiful Beach, The Pacific Ocean, Great Vessels Plowing through the Golden Gate, Micro Brews, Dancing to the Small Hours,...
Pros: awesome location, nice fireplace Cons: food sucks, terrible service
The Beach Chalet recently built an addition in their back yard - "The Park Chalet". The Park Chalet has one of the best locations, situated between the ocean and Golden Gate Park. Resembling a greenhouse with all its many windows, the inside has a ...
Pros: great atmosphere, great food, excellent view of the beach, romantic setting, bar, friendly servers Cons: bit pricy, but reasonable
The Beach Chalet is a great place for special occassions, dinner, lunch or if you just want to kick back and sip coffee while looking at the beach. The servers are very kind. I went one night with a bunch of friends -- it was jam packed, but the waitress...

Pros: View Cons: Staff and food
My family went here for Easter. We were the third party to be seated. Our food which consisted of french toast and waffles did not arrive for over an hour because they found out 50 minutes later that there were no kid pancakes! On top of this they overcharged us. This meal, which is mediocre at best cost $68!!! Because I complained, they gave us 50% off so that we could leave and get on with the rest of the day. No apologies, just leave and get on with your day. This is the WORST place and RUDEST place I have ever been to!!!!!

Pros: pear and rosemary martini, adirondack chairs, affordable small plates Cons: Not enough time in the day
After months of rain, I made my way to the Beach to decompress . After a nice walk along the ocean, I headed up to the Park Chalet to have a glass of wine and sit in one of their adirondack chairs out in the park. Instead, I ended up ordering a couple of their appetizers from the bar, a great Ahi Tuna Tartare and a Lobster Tamale. Both dishes were brought out to my chair and made for a perfect afternoon.
I would recommend anyone wanting to go get some great food and cocktails to head out and stake claim to an adirondack chair.
I ended up skipping the glass of wine for a interesting sounding pear and rosemary martini. This was a great cocktail that I will enjoy again on my next visit.
Pros: The view and nothing else! Cons: Too numerous to mention.
Must be THE most overrated and overpriced restaurant in the city known for the great food. The only good point....the food was not as bad as their beers.
