Pros: Good character development. Lots of details related to police detective work. Cons: Plot had some gimmicks, annoying elements, and reminded me of a real-life crime scenario.
It is New Years Eve and The Digger checks his cell phone for messages; there is none. He then repacks the silencer on his gun and sets forth to kill people as previously instructed. The Digger is good at killing people and had ...

Pros: Very engrossing story, with incredible character development. Cons: A bit of silliness at the end.
Jeffery Deaver's The Devil's Teardrop delivers an amazing story, with a killer as cold-blooded as they come, and a madman "puppet master" pulling strings in the most diabolic manner. New Year's Eve, 1999. What should be a day of celebration ...

Pros: All the more intense and riveting for being so current and realistic! Cons: The ending stretches credibility to the straining point!
It's New Year's Eve 1999! A fixated killer, known only as "Digger", walks into Washington DC's Metro Station at 9:00 a.m. and empties a silenced Uzi on full automatic into the crowd on a brutal killing spree. The FBI receives a ransom note demanding a ...

Pros: Strong characters, great plot, excellent story development Cons: Fixing Kincaid's living room was a bit much!
I'm a newly devoted Jeffrey Deaver fan and absolutely love the Lincoln Rhyme stories. I've read a couple of non-Lincoln tales, and they were ok, but not on the level as the Lincoln sagas. So I went into The Devil's Teardrop a bit apprehensive....

Pros: Enchanting characters, heart-stopping action Cons: A little implausibility near the end
A robot-like mad man opens fire with an Uzi in the metro center, killing and wounding dozens. A note is delivered to the mayor demanding $20 million or, the note warns, the killing will continue. The note's author, it says, is the only one who can stop...

Pros: The entire storyline, the integrity of the characters. The believability aspect. Cons: Nothing!
If you haven't yet read this book, you will not get the bad pun in the title of this review. The Digger is a killer, literally. After becoming permanently brain damage and labelled criminally insane, he only does what he is told. And he is told to...

Pros: Twist, turns and thrills. This book is everything a suspense novel should be. Cons: Supporting characters are not as fully explored as the could be, specifically Agent Lukas. She was very interesting, but the way her character ends up is hard to understand given what Deaver has written.
For fans of Deaver's novels starring criminologist Lincoln Rhyme and his partner Amelia Sachs, Deaver has created a new master of forensic evidence, document expert Parker Kincaid.
Kincaid is every bit the agent that Rhyme is, and shares many...

Pros: Let me calm down and I'll tell you.... Cons: The dust jacket should carry a "R" rating to protect naive readers....
I met Deaver's detective-hero, Lincoln Rhyme, in the compelling thriller, "Coffin Dancer." Now, Rhyme peeks into "The Devil's Teardrop" to help another Deaver hero, Parker Kincaid. Since all heroes have to have a specialty, Deaver...

Pros: great plot Cons: Is it bad to be addicted to a book?
How does Deaver do it? Bone Collector, Coffin Dancer, and now Devil's Teardrop. I'm waiting for someone to make a movie out of Coffin Dancer, seeing how Bone Collector came out, then The Devil's Teardrop comes out. In The Devil's Teardrop, a ruthless...

Pros: A fascinating plot that is totaaly absorbing Cons: None
New Year's Eve is a great time for an assailant seeking to perform mass murders because people celebrate the holiday in massive groups. Digger opens fire on a subway, injuring and killing many people. Subsequently, his partner leaves a note with the...

Pros: Great suspense thriller Cons: Lincoln Rhyme's visit was to short
Jeffery Deaver's "The Devil's Teardrop" is a wonderful, suspense-filled masterpiece! Deaver has brought to life 'the Digger' a killer with no concept of right or wrong, and who's only goal is to please the man who tells him things. 'The...

Pros: unique villian Cons: some large jumps in logic
This digger is anyone, no one. A marvelous antagonist. Mr. Deaver has created a different and compelling anti-villain. I loved the way the author put us right into the head of this unusual and at times sympathetic antagonist.
The only...

Pros: Engrossing, dramatic read Cons: none
Jeffery Deaver has done it again! I am a huge fan of his, his characters are engrossing, real and scary. Mr. Deaver has a way of pulling the reader into his psychotic characters. This was one of those books that I made myself stay up late reading. I love...
